Spotted this on eBay, may be able to swing it within thread budget?

I really like these, properly rare these days too.

If the BMW blows up tomorrow that's what is replacing it smile
Probably worth that but I wonder if he'll find someone actually to pay it. These are a cracking drive, they used to trade blows with the contemporary 325i in magazine tests.

Friend of mine is selling a E46 320i coupe - '02' plate with sensible miles for thread budget, has a couple of issues (oil consumption) but do you guys reckon it's a fair value?

Depends how bad the oil consumption is - surely ropey 320is are common

As long as it isn't the one our manager lent at 5 days new, to one of our IT guys, who then bent EVERY panel bouncing of numerous cars racing a Supra onto the M60, then it looks promising! hehe

I'd buy it at that price (and if I had any space) and, if it's as tidy as it looks in the photo's and drives as well, I'd probably not even haggle (and they look good in this colour as well).

That's a bit of a bargain. Proper agricultural drive as well - none of that modern soft-roader nonsense.

Mustangs? It looks like there's one under the green cover judging by the bonnet line.

£400 XJR anyone? Not sure how much it'd cost to sort the exhaust mind

Don't think the donor car is free any more, it was originally up at £1000

I know less than nowt about Mercedes but am looking for something cheap to waft about in and this one is pretty local to me. Anyone let me know if it's worth going to have a look at £750 and if there are any issues to look out for on these?

I like that Mercedes a lot.

A money though? No idea as I don't know a thing about old Mercedes. Looking for something like this to replace the defunct X-Type.

I think tin worm will be the main concern around the arches, particularly the front - although none seems apparent on those pics.

My mum had a 230E on a 1989 G plate. The engine and transmission were bulletproof, never missed a beat. Was a bit thirsty though for the modest power, mid 20's mpg I think.

That looks like £750 worth of car all day long TBH.

That would have been a 124, much stronger car than this.

Check for signs of HG, the head bolts were known to stretch on this age m111. Gearbox should be fine as long as its had its filter/oil changed. Rust - especially check front crossmember.

They had a habit of looking shiny in photos but being plastered with rust bubbles in reality. Worth a look if local though.

As that is the early W210, the mechanicals will probably be carried over from the W124 and therefore pretty reliable. Rust sets in at the door bottoms and wheel arches. If that bodywork is straight, that's worth £750 all day long! Get it bought and I doubt you'll regret a second of it.
