love that
Agreed! If I won the lottery I'd definitely end up with hundreds of cars like that purchased at this end of the market. I'd end up one of those weirdos on that hoarder programme. I'd also buy this even though it's only a 4 cylinder and a manual. "Renault Safrane 2.2 VI RT. 29k. Best one left?" Highland,£995" http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/168176/rena...

Some bloke called Tom on the ZT & 75 Club forum is selling what looks like a superb MG ZT for £895.

I can't understand how the original launch 75 interior looked so expensive and well made and yet the ZT interior looks so very cheap and tacky. Am I just remembering things incorrectly or did they really cheap it up over the years?
I think you are possibly being a little harsh, but every man to his own. The early 75s had proper walnut dash, then 'project drive' kicked in and they ended up with wood-effect plastic.

Sent you a pm on the 75 and zt forum Tom. Hope to speak to you soonThe early 75s had proper walnut dash, then 'project drive' kicked in and they ended up with wood-effect plastic.
Looks like its sold already. Apparently the vendor Tom is expecting a deposit shortly, and sold for the asking price to a nice chap who promises to look after it. Apparently.
If it falls through

IMO they were significantly "cheapened" over the years. I have two 75s one pre project drive, and one post. The differences I have noticed:The early 75s had proper walnut dash, then 'project drive' kicked in and they ended up with wood-effect plastic.
The later car does not have :
- nice little plastic covers over various nuts (seat belt bolt, for example).
- real leather cover for the armrest - it's som leather look-y like thing but feels nothing like
- plastic dashboard where the earlier car has real wood veneer. Difference in rattle / quality and depth of colour is massive
- Non carpeted bits of floor trim around the foot well air blowers
- Carpet feels a lot cheaper / more synthetic / thinner in the later car. The earlier car's carpet is still (15 years on) in good shape and lovely and thick
