That seems too good to be true, looks at least twice the price worth?
depends on a few things, like cambelt should be due or recently done, a 400 quid job.

Any mot or tax so maybe another 200 quid

But the are pretty solid creatures and a test drive should find out the problems check the service histroy and add money for what is needed but a 5 minute call should answer these questions, it is a 1400 quid car retail really.

EDIT.. well it says it is sold so someone got a bargain..

£300 Bargain Mondeo ST24

Looks remarkably good for the money, a bit of T&T too, a trip to the scrappys could fix the niggles.
Smart and surprisingly agile (if a little chavvy!).

Look at the state of the interior - and the rust!

Over priced surely?

Makes that ST24 mentioned previously look an even bigger bargain.

these are very rare cars and this has high mileage but looks a good package ready for winter workhorse mode.

Leather, 4wd, 110 bhp engine, T&T, estate and lots of service history only major issue is 200k miles but these cars are worth some scrap.

Oohh, I have a lot of want for that! I know the AFN 110 engine is bombproof, and it seems to have had a few quid spent on ancillaries too. I had a 1996 B5 saloon with that lump. Quite uninspiring and agricultural, but utterly reliable. The quattro and avant factor makes this quite an attractive shed.

Anybody know how well the quattro drivetrain holds up to this sort of mileage?

A £250 Honda Legend with tax and test - got to be a bargain for somebody surely?

Close to me, but I've no use for it and don't need it, but still wouldn't mind it!

my understanding is the torsen is generally unbustable and should last the life of the car, i have seen s4's at 240k.

but do general checks etc

IMO they were significantly "cheapened" over the years. I have two 75s one pre project drive, and one post. The differences I have noticed:

The later car does not have :
  • nice little plastic covers over various nuts (seat belt bolt, for example).
  • real leather cover for the armrest - it's som leather look-y like thing but feels nothing like
  • plastic dashboard where the earlier car has real wood veneer. Difference in rattle / quality and depth of colour is massive
  • Non carpeted bits of floor trim around the foot well air blowers
  • Carpet feels a lot cheaper / more synthetic / thinner in the later car. The earlier car's carpet is still (15 years on) in good shape and lovely and thick
In general the newer car rattles, whereas the older one doesn't at all.
I currently have a ZT and I definitely fancy owning a well looked after pre project drive 75 with a V6 at some point.

Anyone interested in "the BB thread A6" ?

Currently non running, no idea WTF is wrong with it because I've replaced the camshaft and crankshaft position sensors to no avail (it will not start, just cranks until the battery's dead)

Need someone to throw a little bit of money at me and trailer it off my driveway.

Had both and whilst they feel solid it was the PPD car that dropped more of bits( although none caused any major inconvenience). It was a late one at 2001 though.

Tried to reply there Tom but won't let me. You are an awesome guy and the car is fantastic. I go to bed tonight with a smile. I have bought and sold many cars and never come across someone as dedicated, honest and decent as you Thank you!
