not sure looking at 700 quid(tax) for a not special car seems a lot when better can be had that are more interesting.

and i never trust cars 'Waiting for v5 from dvla, although we have green slip ' unless the seller seems honest...

As it is usually car bought then find a fault and want rid quickly.
That would be my thoughts entirely, perhaps they are home traders flogging on a PX, but add the misspelling of Vtec and you have someone that knows little about the car.

I looked at one of these a while ago, really are underrated, drive well and sufficient poke. I actually prefer the look of the Sport but its a 1.8 for some daft reason, would have been a good seller 2.2 sport.. Oh, hang on, thats the Type R....

Very nice; I had one very similar a few years ago, still miss it.

The dodgiest "private sale honest guv" home trader if they're cocking about waiting for a V5 - I trade from home but it's all above board and would not be waiting on a V5 coming back in my name because everything's with trade.

Saw this on the way back from collecting my car from the garage this afternoon. The cardboard in the windscreen has £800 written on it.

After a quick look, it looks pretty rust-free, and in decent nick. The tax expired at the end of Jun so the owner might be open to further haggling. It's in Mytchett, near Farnborough.

If anyone is interested, I can give a precise location.

Usual disclaimer - vendor/car nothing to do with me.

Are we all looking at the same car? That, to me at least, has money pit written all over it, and it's a long long way from being finished with the spending. You'll be shelling out every month just to keep that on the road I'd bet.

They weren't even that great a steer really. A decent spec Mondeo gives better grip and feedback, it just doesn't have to lovely momo interior.

Which is at least a nice place to sit while you wait for the nice AA man to come and tell you why you're going into overdraft again this month. hehe

If you want an Alfa, then it really needs to be something with the V6 in it. Anything will do!

Can`t shift my T+Td runaround for love nor money. Any thoughts people on the best place to sell?

Been on gumtree, nothing. Been on ebay twice, sold to a crazy guy in London who messed around for 2 weeks and then didn`t sell the second time.

I don`t even want the earth for it, just £350 will do for a car taxed until the end of december and moted until april. Crazy. Its pretty tidy too!

That's the loveliest thing ever! I think the value of that car is only going in one direction. Someone buy it quickly!

The thirsty V6 has got to go so that's going on the Bay at the weekend.

I want to replace it with a diesel Audi within thread budget. Preferably I want a 110 with the AFN lump which from a reliability aspect is simply superb. I don't mind either A4 or A6 and Avant flavour would be a bonus. A long Mot (8 months +), and as in this budget they're generally quite leggy, some history of a cam belt within intervals would be nice.

I've trawled Autotrader, eBay and obviously PH, with limited success. Am I expecting too much? I'm quite happy to deal with a grotty interior that needs a good scrub, and exterior wise and long as there's no actual damage, I can cope with wear and tear. There's bugger all out there.
The best contender has no Mot, and the trader kindly offers in the ad to put 12 months on it for £100!!! I'm a lot of things but I'm not a mug!

So, Bargain beards, go fetch! Oh, and somewhere south of Birmingham preferably as I'm in Reading!

I should also add I'm vaguely partial to a Volvo V40 1.9d too... smile
