Ta! Yes it looks and sounds fantastic and is the 1.7 yep! Not a spot of rust anywhere which is surreal compared to others I was looking at with less miles. I'm sure I'll find some somewhere!

Few electrical gremlins which I knew about - rear lights, rear heating not working - can't wait to get stuck into it this weekend. I'll likely replace the cambelt for peace of mind too.

V happy with it smile

Bargain of the year!?

Congrats!

I could see these going up in value with them become ever more present in "best FWD bargain" lists and most of them rusting away.

Hopefully not too soon, as me and a group of friends are buying 5 of them next year and driving them to the ring for a weekend!

That Puma's a beaut.

Mine was £300 but has the usual rear arch rusting and has a bit of paint peeling off the bonnet. Oh, and it had a flat battery.

This has got to be worth a go for someone? 2.5 V6, manual, Recaro seats, £1000!

That's fantastic, sounds like a proper owner too, should go like hot cakes.

Seen a 1998(?) CLK 320 for about £800. Am tempted. Foolish?

Not really. biggrin At that price it seems like a free car. I tried to spot a W208 CLK today when I was out on the roads for about 45 minutes. Not a single CLK!?

Latest runaround, bought for quite a bit less than shed limit. 2000 Golf GTI 1.8, one owner from new (female doctor), complete service history at the same VW dealer for 14 years and receipts for everything down to bulbs. 140K, but drives beautifully, gearbox nice and tight. Pretty much new Bridgestones all round, no ditchfinders here.

Is that the non turbo version?

Nice cars, I have been in a few. Does yours have the Recaro seats? Good find smile

Yeah, it's the NA version, but with 125hp it's still perky enough to be fun to drive (though to be honest it's only doing to be going a 10-mile-each-way commute most of the time). No Recaros, but electric everything, aircon and a decent aftermarket stereo with IPod. Can't complain smile

That's almost identical to my old once, nice cars so long as the IMRC works!

Bullet proof engine, I sold mine to a mate who then sold it to another mate where it was frequently hammered from cold etc. Engine gave zero issues even if the rest of the car fell apart around it hehe
