Close enough at 197 smile

Scroll down for more recent owner reviews. Generally seems OK:

Honda are pretty good at making FWD cars go round corners pretty well - this handles a lot better than I expected especially considering the size/weight.

Haven't spun the wheels once in it - though I'm sure it would if I booted it in the wet.

The interior is really comfy and the stereo is amazing in it. If only it was manual and more economical...

These were made for the yanks so mega miles shouldn't be a problem - the engine doesn't feel the slightest bit stressed in normal driving.

I've always really liked those, I hadn't a clue they were that cheap now. You did well there! thumbup

Absolutely not foolish. Canny, cautious and stylish. Do it!

(Am I helping?)
Not really. biggrin At that price it seems like a free car. I tried to spot a W208 CLK today when I was out on the roads for about 45 minutes. Not a single CLK!?
I didn't really notice them until I had my W208 '55. See a few of them round my way. Really fancy a cheap 430 to smoke around in.

check for rust, then check again and again. There will be some on it.

Rear subframe bushes will be worn unless they have been done. (expensive £450)

other than that I guess its standard car stuff. my interior seems have held up well.

I was actually considering a 1.7 Puma when I was looking for the Accord but nothing decent turned up locally. Unfortunately my other half would chop my balls off if I got yet another car! You could buy my Accord then sell your Puma for more than you paid for it? wink

Its a mystery wrapped in an enigma as I copied and pasted the whole advert. Out of interest I will ask the question (its for sale on facebook). If its the petrol then I will ask if the head gasket has been done and wait for the reply of 'the what'.

Edit:

KTF: What engine does it have?
Seller: 1.8
Seller: Petrol x
KTF: Ok. Do you know if the head gasket has been replaced on it?
Seller: Yes it has done a bit ago x

Be fantastic to use that body and somehow shoehorn V8 RWD running gear underneath!

My owners review is on HJ! I had one of these for 3yrs and they are great cars. They are waiters rather than sports cars - 4spd auto with nice soft ride. They are thirsty though, consuming more fuel than the performance offered justifies. They're one of that all time bargains if you ask me, largely forgotten and dirt cheap. Very reliable, very comfy and well built. Top motor.

These 1.8s aren't so bad. Of course they're gutless, but the Freelander is not such a bad offroader!

Picked this up last week, found on Gumtree.

2 owners, 92k miles, £800. Needed a rear wheel bearing and a good clean. MIL light is the only thing that could spoil the party. Seat handles need replacing but are on order.

Real giggle to chuck around, reminds me of my old MK1 XR2.

fk me, that looks tidy for the price and not silly mileage either!

Had a code reader on it yet?
OBD reader arrived yesterday.

MIL light cleared and it hasn't returned in the last 30 miles so fingers crossed.

Just the seat handle to tackle now.

Don't get too excited. Mine would often stay off for 600-700 miles.

The catalytic converter was still borked, regardless of any fancy light.

Nonetheless, good luck. In the surface a Billy bargain.

Asked him today at work and sadly it's too far for him to travel. Thanks though, really nice of you to make that offer. Cheers thumbup

A casual browse on ebay resulted in the £900 e39 523i Touring sitting outside on my drive right now.

Everything works as it should; even the aircon.

I'm not a fan of the 18" M Sport Parallel alloys; so I've removed those and fitted some old school 16" turbines.

My old car is going to my aunt. I was going to replace it with another cheap run around, but this seems a much better idea. smile. Any chance you can send me the registration so I can check with my insurance company the cost to swap?

31, but no ncb to use as it's on my new ST.

Thanks.
