Yep, when I saw the 12 months MOT, I thought that's pretty much a year's motoring for £150 + VED.

Probably an OK car for the money, but I'm not going all the way to Australia to pick it up...

Just picked up an E46 320D for £600.

Has a power issue so whether I break it or not depends if its an easy fix!

Just need to sell my Focus to cover the cost and I'll be laughing....

Radio buttons are sticky and horrible though, it's like the plastic is melting and baby wipes doesn't get the stickiness off.
DEET insect repellent will do that. Horrible stuff, a leaking bottle melted the door pocket on my Mondeo once and it never dries off.

Check your brake light switch (normally attached to the brake pedal somewhere). You've checked the others and say it only happens once you press the pedal, so highly suspect. A common fault on E36s, not that that's really relevant wink
Checked it, it's fine. Checked the ABS on gravel, that was fine too.

A lesson I have still not fully learnt in this life is always to start with the simple things. Because the light came on when I swapped the front discs I assumed it was something to do with that, something complicated.

Whilst fecking about in the front footwell with a multimeter the missus helpfully said...

"you do know you've got a brake light out don't you?"

New bulb, problem gone away. Gaaaahhhh.

Many thanks for all the help though. smile
