Not sure if this is technically "allowed", but here goes.

I'm selling a 2001 mk4 Golf 2.8 V6 4motion for a friend (as he was offered peanuts for it against a Scirocco by VW)

5 door, metallic black, fully stamped VW history, very tidy inside and out, he's the 3rd owner and had it over 10 years.

Available at shed money as it's got 157k on it.

Planning to put ads up on here/trader later, but PM me if interested.

If I hadn't just bought the A3 I'd be all over that. Sounds too good for the money, despite mileage?

Yes I think it's good vfm, if someone follows the PH mantra "buy on condition, not on mileage" it'll sell quickly!

About 20 VW stamps in the book with invoices etc, everything seems to work on it - was half tempted to have it for me or my wife.

The Lexus GS300 may not have the charm of a Mercedes W124, but if I was going to spend £650 on a barge I'd probably go Japanese.

or if £650 is too much

Look past the annoying advert and the car looks great.

Someone's gotta have this. At worst, disposable motoring. Mk1 Focuses were cracking cars.

I'm a long term contributor to this thread, but now I am looking for a 4x4 in thread budget - something I can get along rough tracks/greenlanes/fields in at weekends when I'm taking my Quadcopter out for a spin!

I had a £1500 Freelander previously which I liked, but though it was off the road for about a quarter of the time I had it for various reasons - not Headgasket surprisingly - I would not be against having another one!

Feel free to post up any you come across during you late night ebay/gumtree/autotrader trawls. smile

Got to be a 4.0 XJ Cherokee surely..? Plenty about, and pretty much indestructible!

Dunno how those Honda CRVs are off-road but I would imagine they're reliable.

Wading in with my purchase yesterday. Just over a bag and a half, 108k, full history, just serviced and absolutely immaculate and sorted in every way. I've had two year old cars that don't feel so together. biggrin
