Hopefully it is of use to someone on here. My thoughts were that with a years MOT it hopefully shouldn't be too much of a dog. If a years motoring can be had from it without having to fix too much then it is a bargain. Isn't it worth half the asking price for parts/breaking?

Hmm...there's undisclosed bork in there somewhere. The red warning triangle should NOT be on when it's parked with the drivers door open. So was that shot done with the door open to camouflage a fault?

It's pre facelift and moon miles. It's close to it's money already I think.

I've posted this in the smoker barge thread too so apologies for the repeat for those of us addicted to both threads...

A very good friend of mine (school mate and best man) is selling his S124. He's a lapsed MB Club member and serial S124 owner - his last one was suspected stolen to order and shipped south. He's now hankering after an S210 though and looking to sell.

Cosmetically, this one isn't concours but at £1.1k it's fly's leg away from bargain budget. I know he's put money into the mechanicals with a long-term view.

Cheap norn iron private plate. Aftermarket rear lenses. Ditchfinders. Rust on every panel below the a pillar.

I can guess the type of last owner, and I'm not into buying cars from guys like that.

Well seeing as this is the S Class page.........

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-MERCEDES-BLACK-S-CL...

How many miles do you reckon it's done?
Would you buy one?

I realise it's 1200 but it is with offers. I don't think I've got the guts to buy it.
What mpg would you get?

Edit: just realised the ad has all the info needed to get an mot check. 110k at last mot(jun 2014). Not astronomical

Agreed. Don't forget the tints, bonnet that doesn't match the wings, and poorly drivers seat. "107k"...

As for the plate, as far as I am aware that is just a standard NI one? Am I missing something?

Poor car frown

hehe yeah, I didn't list it all as I was typing on my phone with the reply.

The plate is a boggo standard NI one, but a certain demographic like to purchase those for a couple of hundred and then put them on their old prestige brand car to 'fool' the neighbors. It maintains the image of them being a successful young businessman dontcha know?

They might at least have left the gold tissue box holder in the car when they traded it. I always fancied one of those on the parcel shelf for irony factor.

Ha. Norn Iron is how Northern Irish people say Northern Ireland. Try it out loud, and you'll smile!

Tidy looking unmodified E39 with sports interior and a full ticket for less than £500 before haggling? Mental.

Even if it lasts just the 12months. Surely cost about £1/day after its scrapped.

Not that it matters at that price, but the mileage doesn't seem to add up. 13,000 in the last 6 years ?

how do we feel about something like this:
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2015...

I have been holding out for a Saab 9 5 Aero Estate but am running out of MOT time on my current barge and haven't found anything of interest that isn't a million miles away.
