So, if I had, for instance, two Volvo S60s (currently paying £200), how much might it cost for Multicar?
Go online and get a quote - it's free (all web based).

You do have to proved an email address though.

I've recently switched from two separate policies on two cars - I've added a third car and switched to Admiral - I'm paying a LOT less for three cars than I was for two...

£410 wink

Who knows, chuck it into their web site and find out but the saving won't be massive. The time saving is the real benefit as you only have 1 policy to worry about.

How about a trader's policy?

MY BIL trades cars on the side and it allows him lots of flexibility - he just calls them up when he gets another car and they add it to the policy - IIRC he can have 5 at the time - there are some restrictions on the type of car he can drive, but isn't too limiting.

Need to actually be trading - they'll check in the event of a claim

Not cheap either

biggrin Yeah, just went through the site.

Am I making savings? The prices seem reasonable but what if I got them separately? And would I have to do this every year just to check?

The speed of car turn-over some of us have I reckon we could easily claim to be traders - not very good ones mind, hehe but still I'm sure my BIL's trade insurance wasn't too expensive.

I cocked up with the insurance on my sheddy MX5. Got another policy via Sky Insurance as I use them to insure my Galant VR4. Went for the pay monthly option. Sold the car last month and when I called to cancel the policy I was told I owe the finance company £90. Always read the terms and conditions folks!

Having two cars seems a bit of a hassle dealing with insurance etc.
Man up! Between SWMBO and I we have 6 cars, admittedly only 4 are on the road at the moment.
Screw that!! Having to arse about with 4+ insurances and taxes plus servicing every month!?
Indeed. Certainly within the context of this thread anyway. Sod going through all that hassle to run multiple sheds. Fork that.

I recently sold a car, and as I'd had the insurance policy for more than 6 months, I wasn't entitled to any refund of the remainder. It's in the T&Cs, but it was the first time I've come across it and I was mildly miffed.

No bids at £500 for this S80, the only problem with it is that you'll be upfront instead of enjoying the wafting in the back. Feels like a limo!

At least as a rear passenger, you won't be worrying about when the auto box is going to fail...

That's terrible, Elephant give you a rebate up to 11 months into the policy! Kinda wished I didn't else I'd have 3 years NCB not 1...

Nice. I loved being wafted around as a kid in my father's S80 (regular 5 seat unfortunately).

£470 of turbo Swede completed the 250 miles home with zero fuss. Could use a brake overhaul, but I'm happy.

Just picked this up for dog duties.

E46, 144k on the clock, only 2 owners from new - tax and mot until end of July. Aside from a weak handbrake tension and a rear light bulb it's sound as a pound and pooch loves the back. Doesn't feel like a step down from 08 1 series coupe tbh.

Took it off a lovely chap for a grand on the nose.

Looks good! The E46 is a great car. What engine did you get?

Just the 1.8 - a 316i model. It's quieter than my 120d and pulls strongly, surprisingly so. just got to find a good indy now to look at a couple small jobs. The dog approves which is the big win lol.

Interesting especially if you got it for £1k.
