I have one of these in the ugly estate version.its very reliable but utterly joyless.bought in November 2013 and has always started first turn of the key.
Had a broken spring, exhaust and tyres.I do 40 miles a day.totally anonymous and boring.90bhp is OK ,it is not slow and can keep up with and overtake safely.
I am boring myself talking about it...
I had a 307 with the same engine. They're cheap as well, electrics a bit weird but normally taking the battery off and putting it back on again fixed anything that flashed up on the display. You're right though, completely anonymous and boring. I used to bang down the A57 and A1 twice daily for a commute, no-one really paid any attention to it regardless of the speed, and it'd sit at 85 most of the time

the only problems that i have had with 306 and xsara Hdi's is the rear beams, the engine run for ever a few electircal faults but they go on well, but the rear beam can end up costing the price of the car.

15 years ago I worked for a company that only ran Peugeots and they were pretty reliable. The only reason I forced the company to order me a Ford Focus Mk1 Tddi instead was the dreadful seats and seating position in the 206 and 306!

Also 175,000 miles, I'd say it was a bit over priced, depends how much of a premium you put on LPG and whether it works or not.

Cheap for a 'dame edna' 9-5 but I reckon the individual trading it in probably got £500 for it

I have just bought a car. A 2003 100k, 206 1.4 hdi 12 months mot 30 quid tax. Just on the train to get it. Bought unseen off ebay. Only buying as paying 250 a month in fuel so trying to save money. 470 quid seems good value and money left over for remap.

Short on details, and high on mileage, but this 75 diesel estate could be worth a punt for £500

Love old Peugeots - should be reliable enough too as I can't imagine there's much to go wrong!

Well got home, not the best bodywork, stinks of fags, no service history but doing 70 to 80 mph back with a 25 min stop start traffic and getting 70 mpg. Cant bet that really worth it for being so slow. smile

Steam clean the headlining then set off an odour fogger (about four quid from ECP) - smell gone

A friends Mother in law mentioned to me a while ago that the steering had packed up on her '03 Mini One D. I popped round and had a look and it looks like the pump has died (hydraulic on the diesel rather than the electric fitted to the petrol variants). I told her how much it would be for me to fit a replacement pump and she said she would speak to her Husband about what to do. Anyway, she rang me the other day and said they didn't want to spend the money on the car and did I know anyone who might want to buy it. I enquired how much she wanted and then nearly ripped her arm off when she said how much! So, I went and picked it up last night and drove it home with the rather weighty steering. It's pretty slow and the engine sounds a bit rattly but otherwise it drives quite nicely! I don't know whether to sort the steering and sell it to WBAC or to use it myself.
