At that price you could take it to a trusted local garage then to the nearest valeter. Put it on Autotrader and still make £2k.

I thought 106 GTIs all had leather seats?

Either way, that's fantastic for £400 with MOT until April

Nope, it was an option to have half or full leather, the latter being extremely rare.

That's a bloody bargain, even with a knackered rear beam.

Cheapest Celica on Autotrader. Looks like it's cleaned up pretty well. Not sure about the claimed 1 in 200 limited edition

I've shown it to my brother and he's hoping to contact the owner later. Watch this space!
I've agreed to donate an old Alpine CD+USB head unit I have if he goes ahead.

IM Axle sell a refurbished beam for £255. You send them your old one.

I had a new one for my rallye before I sold it and it was top notch!

How hard is it to refurbish the beam? I have a pretty well stocked workshop....

it depends if the stubs that the trailing arms go onto are pitted. if it's past that point you need to press new ones in and I think you need heavy gear to do it.

Hummm. That 106 Gti is pretty local to me.

I already have too many cars though. And a total house renovation to do.

Anything with a V8 around?

I'm seriously looking at LS400's after having a sit in a friends the other day (not for sale sadly)

This sort of thing. Although the number plate doesn't tie in with mature owner.

Never understood what must go through someone's mind to think a numberplate like that is a good idea.
It sounds daft, but it puts me off.

in my case an almost obsessive daily trawl through various selling places..

its a dangerous pastime.
