I learned to drive in my mums one of these... It was a navy metallic blue with a cream roof, and bertone alloys. She had it years and nothing ever went wrong with it and it did drive nicely for a soft top. It looks great outside Toni & Guy's place!

It's sold, oddly enough. frown The wheels alone are worth most of the purchase price. Would have had that in a heartbeat if I'd been in the market.

Leccy rear windows too.

I like the white with the alloys better though and it's not like I'd actually buy one at any price.

Last MOT was 7K ago (31 Dec, not 31 Jan as advert says) which had 2 advisories

Nearside Front Upper Tie bar/rod ball joint dust cover damaged, but preventing the ingress of dirt (2.4.G.2)
Offside Front Anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in a pin/bush (2.4.G.2)

Something has obviously gone seriously awry since if it's going for £250.

Agreed, I wouldnt bother putting it through the test in Jan.

Gotta love the mot history check. Kinda takes some of the fear out of shedding though smile

£700 Bora with options. Could make a cheap runaround.

I am selling my VW Bora 2.0L petrol. I am selling due to having brought a new car.

I have had this one for the last 2 years in which time I have covered 30,000 hassle free miles.

I brought the car with 116,000 miles on it with the original clutch so it was about time for it to be changed. The clutch was done around 120,000 miles so there years and years left in it.

The car came with the 17" TT alloys which all have pretty decent tyre tread left.

Since I have owned the car I have done a few bit of maintenance which are:

All shocks and springs replaced with new top mounts.
Bottom Control arms and ball joints replaced
Water temperature housing replaced
New back box
New electric window regulators

I have also made a few changes along the way such as:

Fitted reverse sensors
Fitted after-market heated seat elements
After-market head unit (with AUX)
Chrome door handles and wing mirrors

The car also came with a couple of modifications such as:

Tinted back windows
After-market air filter
Pressed metal number plates
Recaro Bucket seats (from golf GTI)

Starts and Runs perfectly every single time
Very cheap to fix as Mk4 golfs are common as anything so parts are a plenty
Good looking car for its age
Best Colour Bora they sold
Its a VW

Not so good points:

Bit of front end damage to the bonnet which you can see in the picture, its not that bad and new bonnets are NOT very expensive but I never got a new one as this damage happened just before I got the new car.
Small rip in the drivers seat as all car of age will have
The plastic trim around the gear leaver is cracked which happens to these cars all the time.

Please feel more that free to come and check out the car and I will go though everything with you. I have nothing to hide with this car, i'm not trying to sell it for a high price i'm trying to sell it for what it is, a mechanically perfect 14 year old car with years of operation left in it.

I'll pass, it looks like a typical knackered VAG shed that is popular with the simple minded these days, 'powerful' 2.0L engine, dull as ditchwater to drive and not all that reliable, no thanks

Yup, they're not called "2 point slow" for nothing.

A quick look through Autotrader shows that for the same money you could have this smart looking 1.8T Mk4 GTI with 12 months ticket (no advisories either).

There seem to be an awful lot more high-mileage cars advertised for sale than I recall from before the MOT history was available to everyone.

Clocking must have been rife!

Paid £1000 for my A8 D2.

2 months MOT, Needed Discs and pads. EML on.

Discs and pads all round + 4 matching tyres later. EML turned off.

First time pass on the MOT. best car i've ever owned. Really can appreciate the 2,8 V6 in these. Was perfect for cruising and enough umph to pull me up the hill fully laden.

Is yours a quattro or FWD - do the FWD in these have a proper auto or the constant adjustable belt type one?

My thought is that the quattro 2.8 fuel economy is so bad on the 2.8 that you might as well go for the full fat V8!

Yep, this is the history of a z4 that is currently on ebay via a dealer, it's been for sale for last couple months as I've been watching it for a while, it's now advertised as having a "mileage discrepancy" think i'll give it a miss.

MOT history of this vehicle

Test date 19 August 2015
Expiry date 18 August 2016
Test Result Pass
Odometer reading 74,184 miles

MOT test number 9678 2897 0365

Test date 20 January 2015
Test Result Fail
Odometer reading 213,230 miles
MOT test number 1066 9022 5463

Mines the Quattro. Highly recommend it if it comes into shed money. On a good motorway run at 70mph i've got around 34mpg from Bristol to London. Can't fault that at all. I was lucky enough to have a receipt for a full cambelt change and a gearbox rebuild within 12 months of when i bought it. hoping it will be give many years of fault free motoring.
