I expect the owner would be more than prepared to listen to reasonable offers from Threadists. Cough.
Looks like a great little car especially if the buyer takes the extra set of wheels & winter rubber for this horrendous winter that's allegedly on the way.

Good to see a well written and honest sounding add. These cars never seem to come up when I need one and only when I dont!

Opinions on a rover 75 for a bit of luxury winter shedding?

Or are they as crap as most MG Rovers of the time?

Diesel was good but slow(detuned BMW unit). The V6 sounds good on paper however my experience wasn't good, it kept breaking due to cheap plastic parts.

Lots of BMW input and they're definitely better built than 25s, 45s and MGFs.

Ride quality is good, at the expense of handling; MG ZT is better to drive.

Cambelts replacement is expensive on the V6.

The diesels chip up to 160bhp with no other mods, though.

I know we said most of these were junk on the FB groups, but this one looks alright if you're near Colchester.

MOT history shows a few past failures for tyre worn, or number plate bulb etc. Other faults like the brake pipe should have been rectified for past MOTs. If it was nearer to me in Romford I'd go and have a look.

Hope someone buys this, then the seller may be able to afford lessons on how to wear a hat properly or some soap to wash the scribbles off his arms.

Call me judgemental, but you'd have to be touched in the head to buy a car from someone who is proud to look like that.

If it was nearer I'd have that. Not got the time to go get it at the moment.

My thoughts as well. It would make a great winter hack, park it anywhere, come MOT time if it passes then fantastic but if not it cost 250 quid!!

Would a shed money 306 GTi-6 be a complete money pit? Anyone managed to buy one within thread budget before and not had it die on them?

I'm also looking at 205 XSs. I have a small, quick Pug itch to scratch.

The rear beam will cost a fair amount to repair. A PSA Achilles-heel.

Great cars but take a good look at the rear suspension - a radius arm snapped on me while I was driving it.

What was the outcome? How much did that cost to fix?

A mechanic mate of mine came out, took a look and said it'd cost 4-500 quid to fix. He said the part itself was only 20-30 quid but it's right next to the fuel tank and due to the welding needed that'd need to come out. So it went off to the scrap man.

Shame, as it was a comfy, nice place to be. Automatic as well, so a great A-road wafter.

Hm. That's a shame.

My current car needs new brakes (discs and pads) all round. Close to £500. It cost under £1k to buy but the way I see it is that I might end up having to do that on another shed.
