Been offered a 95 bmw 730i for £200, no mot since last may, front wings rusty and blowing exhaust for mot he said but probably more, no paperwork, not sure of mileage, some sort of beige/cream interior.

What do we think?
Worth a go I reckon if it runs alright

Saying that, my blind auction purchas Panda is a dog so I know nothing

'94 Camry, supposedly the high point of Toyota build quality.

Dull car in a dull colour, but one owner and FSH (23 Toyota dealer stamps!)

The service history is great, but I wouldn't expect the bidding to go over a grand.

Expect it'll sell for about £500 then appear polished with original wheel trims on a pure white background for £2995

I doubt that. It's a Camry 2.2 which looks to have hit everything it's encountered.

Doesn't stop some of the "classic" dealers

Bought it, hes dropping off in the next few days. Infact hes driving it 40 minutes here which is included in the £200.

Still not seen it.

Edit: Got a picture of it, rusty wing and dented door are the other side

Thinking of getting a shed money car just for fun. I end up getting bored of any daily driver fairy quickly, thinking this might be a way to keep interested in cars without spending a fortune each time (and appreciate my usual car when I do drive it)

Anyone else running a shed just for a bit of fun or is it a stupid idea?

Dont think its stupid, it makes sense to me - you can own a car you wouldn't usually have tried and won't have much money invested in it so if it goes pop it doesn't matter.

Ive been strangely drawn to an old nissan Primera near me just as I'm curious how long the £500 quid snotter would take to die!

Yes..Driving a st car is great fun and very liberating. Too many positives to list.

In fact, I'm secretly hoping my Punto starts to play up so I can bin it and start the hunt again. I quite fancy a Maestro in gold.

And yes, it does keep 'other' car special. Not to mention clean.

Daily - 1.2 Punto for £200.
Weeekend - C63 AMG

Shedding is win win...And as I've recently found out, quite addictive.

Depends on how reliable a car you need. You can end up with the wrong one and it just lets you down when you need to get to a meeting.

Went for £254 in the end. Surely ticks a lot of bangernomics boxes - Japanese, well-proven engine, manual, well maintained (mechanically if not cosmetically).

That camry probably needs welding amongst other things. It's far too easy to be seduced by the FTSH. If it's that great then why's he flogging it?! Big bills looming obviously.

At one point I had an old 1.8 Freelander and an Alfa 155 1.8 Twinspark.

I was living on the edge baby! Living on the edge!

The Alfa never let me down, but it came in handy when the freelander was off the road for 3 months and 3 garages failed to find out what was up with it!
