2015:- Ford F350 American pickup. Vendor drove it 300 miles to me. It's a shed but the guy drove it all the way from Derby so figured if it managed that it'd be OK.

Someone I know bought a 560 SEL with an MOT in 2009 for £600. When it went for an MOT a month later, I saw the longest MOT fail sheet I have ever imagined V8mate said:

That is quite astonishing value. Those things have build quality to rival any of the 'premium' brands. (I had the Passat version with the 1.8T, probably the best car I ever bought with my own money)CX53 said:
30 miles away from me, that is.I think a phone call tomorrow, and a trip to Brum on Saturday is in order
As the non existent summer draws to a close I've started contemplating a winter snotter.
If you're not adverse to a bit of Cat C action, a clean looking Volvo V40 T4 manual, with 10 months ticket and leather for £350...? What's to lose. It's practically disposable when the ticket runs out!

It's 11 years old. When I started driving, most cars had terminal rust before they reached such a grand age.
I make it nine and a half years old, not that that matters much.It doesn't appear too rusty to me!
So, still 10 years old, I recall my dad having a 5 year old Accord that was utterly rotten when he traded it in.

It's not too far from me either.. Very tempted myself to be honest but the 2.8 V6 golf I had was everything but reliable, so I'm not sure it's for me. Let us know what it's like if you do go and see it! I think a phone call tomorrow, and a trip to Brum on Saturday is in order
MOT check site shows it will want the brakes looking at but otherwise the history looks good. One owner too, which is always a good sign.
Limo anyone?

Same seller has an MGF for the same price

Seeing that makes me want another soft top,not sure I can justify 3 cars in a 1 driver household, but then you get this:

We've always liked the Mk 1 Superb, but have always commented that they don't surface for sale very often. I showed Mrs v this one, and on the face of it she rather fancies it seeing as her current daily is wearing out. It may be a done deal if it's still got the OE umbrella

You're right. I hate modern plates, they still confuse me - 56 is a 2006 / early 2007, then.

That's the thing...if you were looking at a very cheap ten year old car in 1996 you were looking at some serious dross. So, still 10 years old, I recall my dad having a 5 year old Accord that was utterly rotten when he traded it in.
That Skoda (to me) appears to be a pretty nice car with plenty of life in it. Of course, it may well be riddled with faults that aren't apparent. It just staggers me that it's so easy to find stuff like that nowadays.

Been offered a 2000 BMW 330i manual estate (something like 130k miles) for £650 with a years mot. Needs front arches and a new hatch really.
Am I stupid to say yes even though I have too many cars already?
I think as long as not rusty underneath and no signs of cooling issues, then sounds like a good price/car.Am I stupid to say yes even though I have too many cars already?
