Anyone got or know of a nice reliable shed for sale? Not too fussed on what it is but air con would be nice as would decent tyres and brakes! Usually I manage to find a gem, but I keep dithering and before I know it they're gone!

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172296834922

Any help to you?

These are awesome!

I had one for three years and loved every minute of it although mine was the baby 4.3 and a LWB one. (I only sold it because SWMBO wouldn't drive it and I wasn't using it.)

Downsides...

-The propshafts are weak and can need rebalanced but I think that's more a LWB trait.
-They do rust but if you keep on top of it it's not so much of an issue.
-The pump that controls the soft close doors, (if it's got them), rear head rests, lumbar supports and central locking do break but they can be repaired or good second hand units can be bought for £150 or so.
-If the suspension fails it's pretty much scrap but I never had any issues with mine at all and they ride --like they're on glass ad also go round corners like a hoofing great go-kart.
-I've heard the induction manifolds can crack but I've only known one, (a friend on mine's), to do it.

Beware plug changes because they're a twin spark so they take 16 spark plugs! smile

I'd have another in a heartbeat but I'd be looking for a 5.0 like this one.

Great advice how quick are they coming from a Sirocco R I don't want a step backwards when that goes back and would prefer something with a good noise.

'Regularly serviced'. 22k between services isn't enough to qualify as 'regular' in my book - especially on an Alfa!

I also sèem to recall reading that the JTS is more troublesome than the old 2.0TS unit - flaky variable valve timing system was it?

Still, for less than 800 nicker, it certainly is a pretty thing. Nice cowskin seats too!

Looked at loads of these for the wife last year - she loves a 156.

Every single petrol example was overdue a belt change, so would have needed 300 quid spending on it as soon as we got it home (if it even made it that far)

The 4.3 I had was plenty fast enough, (I had a Jag XJR8 prior to it). But if I was shopping again I'd go for a 5.0 just because it's a bigger number. I think there's only something like 30 bhp difference.

It was something like 6.7 to 60 and the 5.0 will do it in a shade over 6 if I remember correctly so they're not the fastest but no slouch either. Has a nice subdued V8 grumble to it which is only barely perceptible through the double glazed windows but you know it's there! You could also remove the rear silencers if you want a more obvious noise. I was going to but never got round to it.

The Merc's ride and handling are far superior to the Jag in my opinion too.

If you want balls out performance then look at the V12s and biturbo incarnations. The latter I think sees 60 in fourish seconds but they're expensive and high maintenance so I'm led to believe.

The other notable thing with the V8s is that 30 mpg is easily achievable on a run.

This looks an excellent little car for the money and a rare one to boot.

205 STDT with the 1.8 turbodiesel engine.

MOT history looks good and the pics look good too.

Someone please buy this before I do.

That's about as cheap as motoring gets - insure on a classic policy, pay peanuts for fuel etc.

I swear that Peugeot made half as many center caps for those wheels, as they did the wheels themselves. Even in the mid 90's it was rare to see a full set on a car, i kept mine in the garage to stop them getting pinched.

Relatively speaking these things go like stink! I remember a mate of mine having one back in the day. We were having probably the worlds sttest drag race (me in my Rover 216GTi) I was expecting to walk it... He sailed past me with a massive grin on his face. hehe
