Only the 1.4 but seems to go fine, everything working as it should aside from the air con ("just needs a regas"). Now just need to shift the Rover 75......
Can't believe how cheap and undesirable these are because they feel like far more modern cars than they are for the money!

Last one I had in lingered for far too long and was dirt cheap with a year's test

Erm...why?

He's had it four months and he's punting it on already, it's SORN and it has nothing going for it in term of image. It was never cool, never desirable and has no following to speak of. All they were good for was ripping the engine out of for a transplant (they have stronger pistons than the T16 slung into the 200 and can take more boost) and weighing the rest in.

It was a straight line boost bunny. That's it. The equivalent BMW of the time drove rings around it and didn't have doors carried over from their previous generation to save money.

Does it come with a balaclava to wear when your driving it?

Good luck if you go for it but I'd pass on this one.

Looking to get a shed for the commute and school run. Approx 20k pa, but still don't want a diesel.

Can be either hatch, estate or coupe, just as long as it has isofix in the back. Folding rear seats so i can put a bike in the back.

Cruise and air con are a must.

What's out there? Preferably in lincolnshire/cambridgeshire area.

After a couple of weeks it seems to drive fine, although every time I look at it I find another dent or scrape. The ride is poor as well with it crashing over every bump. Not sure if that's because I'm used to the very comfy Rover or the suspension is cream crackered, but it will do for a few months.

Sold the Rover for £300 which would have made it a good entry into this thread. I was a good reliable car, but had the fatal combination of being slow and thirsty.

206 GTi, for £870. Full service history and MOT history looks sound. Looks tidy for the mileage as well.

The more desirable 180bhp model too. Trouble is, Clio 172/182s are only a few pounds more...

sloppy gearbox, not much faster than the 140 version, very rough ride but resides that not bad cars.

(based on a 140 gti I bought for my mum, I paid £400)
