Unfortunately so. Got to figure out how to get there as would prefer to drive it back than drive down and up.

If anyone knows how to get to uttoxter (I think) fairly easily from say Manchester airport it would be appreciated.

I think this thread would improve if someone was to link to the cheapest E39 currently available on PH whistle
...and then you can all tell me why it's not selling!
Is Pic 9 reflections or a dented 3/4 ?

Remove the dragon

Remove all the neg remarks and list of things you've fixed
As above, plus:
  • Remove the smillies from the ad
  • Bullet-point the good bits at the top
  • Put a cheap stereo in it (if it works it's a something that you don't need to fix)
  • Remove the phone holder on the dash
  • Fewer dent-based pictures, just give them an over-all picture... You might get a time-waster, but you'll put off less folk than having close-ups of every mark.
Thanks folks.
I'll do a bit of re-writing; cheap HU will have to wait until after christmas though, too busy at work to get out shopping...

getmecoat

I said it's been busy at work... my brain said "pop into Halfords and see what's on cheap" and stopped there!
Quick ebay and its seems a mech-less unit with radio, bluetooth and usb is about £15. Should do the job smile

Thanks for the offer but I think I have it sorted. With it being Christmas the flights cost much more than normal so would rather not fly just now.

luckily I have an uncle based just north of Birmingham so he has agreed to collect it for me, about 45 minutes away from his house. Will then just fly to Birmingham in the new year for cheaper.

That is a whole lot of car for not very much.

Even the right colour.

Just gave the owner a call. Said he's had it just over two years. Getting rid as they have a dog and they have now bought a Honda CRV from a friend. Said everything works as it should. Doesn't want to sell it, but it's impractical for them now.

no problems, hope it works out for you, I was very keen to buy it. A service a few bits and bobs will be worth more in a few months. Has to bargain of the year.

hehe

Noticed them last night. Apparently, the Jag in the picture is at the owner's place of work.

Hmm really...
We are contemplating adding something cheap and basement-y to the fleet because MrsC regularly ferries ours and other dogs about and:

- it's ruining the FFRR
- she hates driving the V8 Defender (what IS wrong with her? biggrin )
- they won't fit in her Coupe
- the RRC is still off the road

so OBVIOUSLY we need another car!

This guy above is quite near to us and he does have a few possibles which would fit the bill. I wonder whether the cars with a £100 starting bid and a £995 BIN ever get sold for a few hundred or whether the bids mysteriously pile in as the auction end approaches? Anyway might pootle over and see what's in stock next week, ignoring the Spares & Repairs bit!

And they have a BMW diesel engine in them? Although today that would perhaps mean "run for the hills!" (from what I've heard about modern BMW diesels) ... but back in 2001, it was probably a really good thing?
