Straight away.

Buy it for £500 do the oil and filters and then it either breaks or you get shot of it when it fails the next mot.
I don't bother doing that stuff.
I'm at the point where the saab needs a mot in april.

Not sure do i get something more frugal with cheaper tax or just get anything with a years mot again and put up with the high tax and crap mpg for another year.

How much tax and MPG? What's the car worth?

The saabs £295 tax and does 25 mpg and is going to cost a few quid to get thru the mot and will stiff have a tired whinning diff .

If i replace it low tax high mpg isn't a deal breaker as it only does around 10 miles a day and i think at sub £1000 a petrol engine is less risky than a diesel.

I bought this last april with a years mot and if i'm being sensible i should get anything with a long mot and not worry about the tax etc.

£500 Saab with MOT until October? Then sell your current one for spares repairs, probably get £300?

I've got until 17th april to act , i'm pretty sure i'll manage to get something ( doesn't have to be another aero) mot'd until jan 2018 just need to be patient.

Plus i paid £500 for my current saab so i'm now to tight to pay much over that wink

Just got the girlfriends snotter through its MOT, wasn't too hopeful but all it failed on was a front wish bone. £130 and back on the road, could have been cheaper doing it at home but fk crawling around under cars in this weather!

Will look to have it up for sale in the next few week when the new lease comes!

That's why I try to MOT my cars in the summer (even if they aren't due) as I CBA working under cars in winter either.

I get to the point wher I can't even be bothered washing them in winter, never mind fixing them!

Just cleared out the almera before she's carted off to the glue factory later today. A very sad occasion, but that's bangernomics, and we must be strong.

Found a brand new full size tyres under the boot floor which was a bonus though. I drew the line at faffing about removing the aftermarket Sony stereos though I'd imagine they only go for buttons on eBay.

Assuming it's a shed, I'd bin it and get another cheap car. 25mpg isn't bad. My shed does 13mpg.

Pfft 13? My last one did 8 haha.

But yes if it is a shed just find another cheap car, mk1 focus are always a good shout. Even the dogst slow 1.8 TDDI engine with 90 bhp is pretty much bulletproof with good mpg - avoid tdci though.

Go on then, little challenge. Proper sized estate (none of these Fabia/Polo/Golf based nonsense), petrol, manual, reliable and not stupid bad mpg - what are my options? Thinking 1.8 V40 atm.

How about a ford mondeo? Seem to be really cheap.

This one needs small amount of work for new mot but parking sensors and bluetooth while being cheap

https://www.gumtree.com/p/ford/ford-mondeo-lx-esta...

Slighty more up market, 1 previous owner and FSH with Mot till end of July.
