Funny as I was looking at 75s the other week and it looks tempting, but with the MOT expiring in 4 weeks it's not worth this price.
Sold by a dealer and those guys know their cars, so chances are he noticed something catastrophic underneath, otherwise he'd put a full MOT on it and advertise it at twice the price.
On the other hand, if the mileage listed in the advert (95,000) is accurate, it's only covered 2,500 since the last MOT. Absolutely agree. I used to deliver new leased BMWs and often had to drive back in the cars they were replacing - usually a 3yr old Passat/Vectra/BMW and occassionaly a 406. First time I drove one I was immediately impressed with how comfortable it was and how 'right' it felt to drive.
I bought one with my own money £15,000 of it , Christ knows what I was thinking, I went to a car supermarket in 1997 with £15,000 to spend and came out with a 12 month old 406 , it was an executive so had all the toys of the day and the best sounding stereo I've ever heardIt depreciated faster than I could pay for it , I also bought an extended warranty which was spectacular in its ability not to pay for anything at all
I kept it for 3 years and sold it for 97p at least that's what it felt like when I compared what I'd paid to what I got
It did drive nice though

Corrosion doesn't care about mileage covered! To be fair, neither do expensive electronic components causing emissions problems.
I always worry about modern cars needing emissions tests as they can easily fail due to an expensive (or hard to source) sensor fault.
Have you ever looked at a Polo Harlequin and thought I wish they were available as a saloon?

That Polo is absolutely brilliant! Wish I had the space for a track day car. Great write up in the advert too.
Always very suspicious of anyone who sells with a short MOT and they say 'no reason why it wouldn't pass this time'. This is code for 'completely shagged, needs welding and suspension bits sorting if it's ever to see an MOT again'.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000-VOLVO-V70-T5-2-3-SE...
All the miles and it seems like the gearbox is due a meltdown, but it seems like it's been well loved and it'd be nice to see it go on to do many more journeys.

More likely that it's not due a meltdown because it's had an overhaul. It was probably flaring prior to that.

" Mileage: 291,400"
These boxes have a pretty poor reputation don't they?

jas xjr - that looks like a terrific deal. Nice work.
thanks , i will put up some better pics up over the weekend if i get the chance.i will do that. the only thing that seems to urgent is that there is a weep of oil from the rocker cover.
my first bmw things were getting deeparate, my vectra had less than two weeks left on its mot. i could not find anything even remotely interesting locally.
just wondering how much an mot failure 2.2 vectra auto is worth as scrap its such a shame it drives really well , nice and smooth. i drove it from stoke to leeds and back a few weeks ago and it did not miss a beat.
