I would imagine any additional wear is insignificant.

Tyres are designed to deflect, and the tread moves around every time you corner. Running over a small cats eye is almost a non event for the tyre.

The driver of the Nissan van, Naeem Akhter from London, has been charged with careless driving, driving without any insurance and driving without a licence.
Why don't they start punishing them?
The worst bit is that it's from 1999. Basically nothing has been done since about these sorts since and now there are more of them.

I would image damage from potholes and speed bumps is far greater than the cats eyes.

I'm probably being a bit dim here, but what was careless about his driving?

Ms Conneeley said that the Cabstar moved back on to the M3 from the A34 sliproad at the last minute by going over the chevrons at the point of the junction.

Still it's surely 100% the HA/councils fault?
Can't believe no one from one of them was found criminally liable. Don't they do H&S assessment on cats eyes?
f**king scary to think that can happen.
