Probably my favourite road car (all things considered) in the world but 996rs vs 997rs very tough.
996rs feels so much sweeter, keener to turn in and better connected to the road but the engine just lacks that feeling of satisfaction. It's plenty fast but it 'feels' weedy.
997rs engine is infinitely more satisfying. The feeling of plentiful power through two thirds of the rev range and then that last furious surge of anger toward the redline just always seems to come exactly when you want it most. It is immensely satisfying but the driving experience as a whole is more muted/lardier and less eager feeling than the first gt3.

This is down to gearing. But ratios are among the GT3's range of adjustability; right back to genesis.996rs feels so much sweeter, keener to turn in and better connected to the road but the engine just lacks that feeling of satisfaction. It's plenty fast but it 'feels' weedy.
