RE: Honda Insight: You Know You Want To
Discussion
What would the performance and economy be if the weighty hybrid bits were removed?
Alternatively what would be a likely top speed if one was gutted and a VTEC fitted, about 200mph?
I suppose a better question would be - what would an Insight shaped Civic be like and why didn't Honda make one?

I may have accidently just bought another one........
This time a Red one!
Was too good a chance to miss, now the question is what to do with it!
Good man! You do love these! This time a Red one!

Do tell us the spec/where you got it etc & cost (if that's not too cheeky!)
What are you plans, fix it up (if it needs it) and sell on?
I can't really tell but it doesn't seem as though it's not suffering from the usual 90's fading red paint (seen a few ITR's which have done it).

I'm going to fix it up, may keep it, may pass on if somebody makes me a sensible offer, not sure.Do tell us the spec/where you got it etc & cost (if that's not too cheeky!)

Needs a new battery, so it'll get one, so if I do sell it on the new owner will get years of worry free motoring.
Has full main dealer history so my hopes are high that's it'll be a good car, needs a good machine polish, of that their is no doubt, a service is due, probably discs/pads as it's been standing a few months & the wheels will get refurbished. Apart from that hopefully it'll just be a case of enjoying it.
But there's a little voice in my head wanting to something a little more....special

Sounds good, glad they're falling into enthusiasts hands.Needs a new battery, so it'll get one, so if I do sell it on the new owner will get years of worry free motoring.

What 'special' are you thinking of?
Re the wheel change, looks cracking!
Here's some quick pics..
The respray it's had at some point is terribly dry and orange peeled, it's kill or cure.
I clayed the paint on the left rear 1/4 panel and attacked it with some Menz IP on a very hard polishing sponge I had knocking around using the Kesrel rotary polisher working it with quite hard pressure. How much worse could I make it.
Needs some more work, but the early signs are promising.

Well, the Red car was yesterday sold to a PH'er, who I'm sure will make himself known when he's ready. I simply don't have the time to work on it as I'd like. The respray it's had at some point is terribly dry and orange peeled, it's kill or cure.

Last time I waist my time without taking a deposit, hung around for 2hrs as he was late arriving, gave him a comprehensive run down of the car.
The PHer let me down, trusted him not to leave a deposit. He mailed earlier in the week to say he was sorting a lift to collect the car, then today he decides he doesn't want it.
MOT on it next week. Instant £500 increase in value.

Be sure to post a link to the classified here so we can pass it about. The PHer let me down, trusted him not to leave a deposit. He mailed earlier in the week to say he was sorting a lift to collect the car, then today he decides he doesn't want it.

It's not advertised, had a few e-mails asking speculatively, it will be for sale, £2500 as it stands, but more when finished. Having said that for £2500 I'd build another ridiculous MGB.
