I've avidly avoided Crocs in the past but wondering if they'll be a good solution for driving abroad.

I'll be doing up to 200 miles a day. Looking for something lightweight and cool which these are. My concern is how they'll feel against the pedals.

Suitable footwear?

Assuming it's warm, barefoot would be my choice. Stick the crocs/trainers/flip-flops/whatever on when you get out...

Having tried on a pair of crocs I couldn't imagine driving in them. they're cumbersome and wide. I'm not sure if they do different types, but the ones I wore were not good. They look like st too.

I can't think of any footwear less suitable for driving, with perhaps the exception of these:

Crocs shouldn't be worn, driving or not.

How hard could you hit the brakes in bare feet?

I was driving with them earlier, it's not really a hard task.

Far be it from me to give out fashion advice (you may not want to take it from a hairdresser after all) but you want to check out the driving loafers by a company called swims.

Made from a crock-like material & fully breathable they're the fantastic for driving when hot, or poncing around Monaco in yer bright pastel coloured trousers.

I promise never to mention fashion tips outside of the lounge again getmecoat

I think you'd be better off in a pair of Uggs.

Managed an emergency stop only today while driving barefoot, after some plonk walked out into the road as I went down Tooting Broadway, wasn't a problem. It's certainly safer than driving with flip flops on.

Me personally - as hard as I like. The pedals aren't covered in spikes and I don't have particularly soft feet smile

I don't see how it makes a difference. Unless you mean actually literally hitting the brakes rather than pressing the pedal.
You do not have to lift your foot away from the pedal and stomp on it, or if you do there is something wrong with your car or you.

I wonder how some people manage to get dressed in the morning.

On topic, anyone who wears crocs should be shot. Probably not great for driving either.

If you're over seven or under seventy, then unless you're on a yacht or in an operating theater, crocs are illegal.

Well, not actually illegal, but it's likely to result in Wok Gan or similar buggering some sense into you. ...

Lol.

I think I'll avoid!

So is barefoot really on option for that mileage? Driven barefoot before and its a strange feeling but certainly possible over short distances.

I'm telling you, a pair of these, some nice pastel coloured jeans, a RL polo shirt & if its chilly out, a nice knitted number draped over the shoulders. You'll be the toast of the riviera bowtie

I'm wearing mine right now seeing as its such a baleric Cumbrian evening & cutting quite a dapper look if I don't mind saying so myself

Oh no, please, Crocs with off white socks up to the knees has got to be this summers look surely?

I really can't make out whether this is a piss take thread or whether the OP is serious.

I know its a slow day but come on!

I think a pair of those blue or white ones should come free with every Boxster purchase.

I just drove my son to Scouts and I couldn't be bothered to find my trainers so did it in my flip flops. It's not easy but it doesn't half make you concentrate a lot more.
