Just because I want to look at it in this volume

Just a couple of things which ticked me from the previous Vol:
I recall the CSL being almost outrageously playful in the wet. Particularly when I took the ex and her parents to a posh venue one rainy Saturday and found myself suddenly dishing out a squirt of oppo sauce* at what should have been a very low speed, gentle roundabout negotiation.
The silence that followed was literally deafening Turns out the ex outlaws weren't too fond of that car. Weren't too fond of me either, as it happens...
Not to be outdone of course, the cooking M3 will also wag its tale with very little persuasion. But it should all be nice and smooth. Any curious handling traits are most likely to be worn RTABs, which are a common issue. I've never personally experienced a Bimmer with torn subframe mounts, but logic would dictate that any assertive driving would be met with loud protest from said mounts and not just curious feedback.
But, if it's knife-edge handling you want, try the Z4M. In the wet, that thing will literally spit you into Middle Earth at the slightest flinch of the throttle; as my good friend will attest when he found out just how sensitive those Conti's were on a wet roundabout. In rush hour

Fun car though [the E46 M3], especially when wet. Like a Mk2 Escort with heated nappa.

What I really want is a e46 M3 tourer
BOGOF, this week only Tourer sir? Can even supply the jigsaw and a new blade.
(So the car can fit the dog, not the other way around).
There's an E39 M5 Touring thread flouting about the interweb somewhere, whereupon I recall that the plucky DIYer had to send his modified loom off to Neverland for some witchcraft in order that he might get his rear wiper to talk to the the M5's ECU, or somesuch.
