Remember this guy? Well, he died.

Agreed. But answer my question
Did he deserve to die?
Well, if he was in those built up areas using a different weapon just as threateningly, he'd (hopefully) be shot dead by the police or shot and committed to a mental institution as a danger to society. Lets not forget it wasn't just once.Did he deserve to die?
Using that logic, I would reluctantly have to say yes.
Its not the same as waving a gun around in public, its the same as firing it at people and trying to miss.

Also, further to some comments above, yes we might all "enjoy the odd dab of oppo" but we don't (at least I dammed well hope nobody on PH does) do it in crowded town centres at 3x the speed limit or anywhere where we are likely to injure anyone except our own stupid selves
So where DO you draw the line?yonex said:

If you have to ask the question 'is this an acceptable risk to everyone around me' the answer is normally that it's not. Why is this so difficult for some people to understand? If you want to drive at 9-10/10ths go to the track.yonex said:

Absolutely spot on IMO. Amazing how many people are unable to think the obvious.Liquid Tuna said:

My point is that you, me, Gladys and the driver in this video ALL have different ideas on that point. (My bold.)
Its not really about a POV?'Am I driving in a manner that is a risk to others' Y/N

LOL, the 'obvious' is obviously not obvious to everyone!

If there is no risk to anyone else (and it can be guaranteed) fine. Drive how you want, the risks can be selfish to your loved ones but thats up to you.(FWIW I'm not defending the guy, never have and never will. But I'm asking where we draw the line if some illegal action is ok and other illegal action isn't.)
But as for whilst sharing the space with other road users and pedestrians, the levels of risk doing 80 on a motorway when everyone else is doing it and driving like this guy are wildly different
Shame really, he had a talent that's for sure, shame he didn't take it to the track, as for the he deserves to die brigade, you have all gone way down my estimation, he died in a horrendous car accident , he was a passenger, whether or not he would have had an accident or not is a moot point, the comments about this being the Daily Mail are fitting.
