RE: Porsche Panamera facelift: Review
Discussion
+2 typical Porsche substance over style....just sort the ridiculous back end and we have the car that the Panamera should be... p.s. sack the bloke who designed the original back end botch job...(and it is)...otherwise a properly cracking car

I'm sure this is very capable but Porsche have dialled out any desirability to zero. The interior looks a nice place to be but I'd always be thinking about the outside.
The concept shown looks like an obvious answer. the downside is that if they do release that, the Panamera will be consigned to the ugly dustbin of history and prices will torpedo - good for some but not potential buyers.Still, look at the old VW Type 3s - I can see Panameras in the future being slammed and stanced and ....oh dear, I have to lie down.

Is this new V6 based upon an Audi unit or is it solely a Porsche engine?
I don't know, but I'd imagine it's a development Audi unit. I don't think Porsche have any V engines of their own these days do they; isn't the V8 a (heavily) modified Audi lump too? Even if the V8 is their own, it would be madness for them to develop their own V6 with so many lumps available in-house.

I'd have the GTS in a heartbeat.
Really don't see them as an ugly car - quite the opposite. Rare opinion on here I know, but it's much less revolting than many other uber-barges to my eyes.
Not totally sold on the rear, but then it never was the most photogenic of cars, significantly better in the metal though IMO.

I think they look a lot more at home blasting down the autobahn and through european towns and cities than they do over here for some reason. They just look like they "belong" over there (in a nice way!).

The shame is that the difference between the different VAG brands is getting further diluted. I understand then reasons but Bentley, Audi, Porsche, Lambo and forthcoming Bugatti are the upmarket VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda. The Porsche flat 6 is only really the only non shared engine and the 911 / boxster (up to the bulkhead) the only non platform shared chassis.
