You've got to be kidding me.

If hes been blocked from posting or visiting the forum then it is a ban!
How can it not be a ban? Just because it is for a short period of time it does not become something else.

Sorry but in 15 years of using car forums and forums in general I have never seen anyone banned for lieing or talking crap.
Way over the top moderation!

Based on that, most people on here should be banned.
If you have an issue with the moderation on PH, then contact Garlick.
It's a 'stop pissing about' message, call it pro-active moderation. Do others get it too? Yes, it works well for us and nips issues in the bud. All forums bar this are open to him.

It's just how we do things from time to time based on an accumulation of modding history. First offence? We'll cut slack, after a while we'll take action. The beauty of a temp 'ban' means you still have access to the site but know that we take a dim view of recent actions.

I recon he should be reinstated - but only once he's sobered up and he has to buy a real Porsche on eBay and take a photo of him sitting in it with a tin of custard on his head whilst doing some finance director style spreadsheet type stuff holding his good wood ticket and v5 for an s2000

I think it's fair enough. It's not permanent and it might make him reflect a little.

I still think he should have to buy a 944 before he's allowed back laugh

Now we need a new t-shirt with a ghostly 944 on it and the slogan Pork or Beef? biggrin

Ignoring a mental illness won't help the bloke. He needs help to get past whatever he's going through. A ban will just send the message that no one cares and his obvious cry for help will go un-answered.

It should at least be a public flogging.

Could perhaps get a mob together with pitchforks and torches to burn the witch or at least throw him in a river / lake to see if he sinks. Then we'll know he was telling the truth. If he floats then it's witchcraft I tell ye.

Or maybe just a sub forum dedicated to Welshbeef and the amazing tall stories....

Suggestions for names,
Welshbeef - Ramblings of a crazy man
Nothing in this is true but...
Not the 944 Owners Club
I don't own a Porsche
Post here if you're pissed

He may not tell the truth all the time but within all the lies some of what is typed might actually be true!

This thread has delivered, WB has been slapped down, time for a bit of a dignified death/locking of this thread?

(I know he's been a bit of a wally here but no need to keep on sticking the boot in.)

Is that an instruction? Last time I did that, I got thrown out of the butchers.

i think it's pretty fair moderating to be honest. the guy's known as a bit of a jackanory & has posted these types of fantasies before.

we've all seen people being banned or binned a few times before no? what about the kid who came on having a pop at amari? or that swedish mercedes guy who was trolling the hales v's piper GG thread-in his case he had his posts binned & explained to him why & seems to have come back from it & still posts i think (c36 nico or something he was called)? that's just 2 relatively recent examples i can think of.

it's all been pretty harmless stuff for welshbeef-i've seen much worse by a certain character who frequents the porsche & lotus sub sections-but it if we just have people spouting general guff day to day without getting a yellow card how will they know where the line is?

Glad hes been banned hes a fecking idiot. Hopefully it will give him time to realise what a tt he is, but he will probably just have a little drink to drown his sorrows.....
If the criteria for a ban is being a fecking idiot, can I nominate 300bhp please?

Yet charity begins at home & faced with an enormous opportunity to take it on the chin & move on, he opted to persist with the bullst, indicating in the process that he considers those around him to be stupid. No sympathy at all.

Agree.

I was prepared to give WB the benefit of any doubt, but rightly as it turned out he was outed. The thread was very amusing as a result.

PH got there man, best left at that.
