I don't visit Pistonheads for two days and the calibre of posting seems to have dropped to 4chan levels of immature, inane and unhelpful nonsense?
The guy has asked a car enthusiast type question on a car enthusiast webiste and has been met with nothing but trolling bks, save for maybe 3 posts. In a thread with 175 replies and counting that is VERY poor form PH...

'Offered out' sounds like pub fighting or handbag swinging talk to me.
There was no mention of a venue for such a competition so one could be forgiven for assuming it was to happen on a public road.
How do you factor out the differences in drivers in such hypothetical scenarios?
Most car forums seem to actively discourage and distance themselves from racing on public roads and even mentioning such driving and enthusiasm online can have consequences, look at 10_Pence_Short's Prison Diary thread.
I do entirely agree that one should (rightly or wrongly) be incredibly careful as to what they choose to post on the internet. Perhaps it would have been more beneficial to the original poster and the forum as a whole to have highlighted why this is the case, rather than posting numerous trolling references to a film that is now over a decade old? Or perhaps answered the question and let the original poster and the acquaintance get on with it and take their chances?

I assume you mean by having this race on a public road full of innocent road users who probably would rather not have the risk of a 2 ton jag doing 150 odd barrelling into the back of their car while chasing/being chased by matey boy in his modded focus
won't someone please think of the children etc etc

You're right, heaven forbid we share a laugh. Right then people, let's keep GG strictly factual and for the love of Vin, can we only cite relevant up to date sources? 279 said:
