Sounds like a really sensible set of mods for the track there, bearing in mind a stock 997S would more than likely already have the steel anchors (but no aerokit).
No so sure your engine mods for the extra 18 bhp would be worthwhile for someone on a real tight budget, but I see where you are coming from.
Interesting with your thinking on the stock suspension (neg camber, roll bars excluded) ref the PASM and that ability to switch on a button press and key some degree of compliance for the road.
Yeah engine mods are expensive, your best just doing high-flow cats as they give the biggest gain of all mods and BMC panel filter. No so sure your engine mods for the extra 18 bhp would be worthwhile for someone on a real tight budget, but I see where you are coming from.

I like the PASM as like you say gives best of both worlds, yes no doubt Ohlins would improve my track times by maybe 1-2s but it could ruin it for the road and I loose that easy flick of a button ability.
I think probably the best mod I've not yet done would be the LSD.

Or a CG-Lock, if you haven't already got one. LAS (Limited Arse Slip) I like the PASM as like you say gives best of both worlds, yes no doubt Ohlins would improve my track times by maybe 1-2s but it could ruin it for the road and I loose that easy flick of a button ability.

CG-Lock, whats that?http://www.cg-lock.co.uk/app/performance/
Actually, not bad for what it is and also depending on what seat you are running.

I remember encountering this car last year at Bedford on a track day. Very rapid. I'm not sure what the exact spec was then but a quick look around and a short chat I gleaned it had R888s, the Ohlins, those OZ wheels and the duck spoiler.
It really was quick, it was getting the power on so early on corner exits meaning I couldn't keep up in my 400 bhp supercharged s2000, although I had only had the charger fitted the day before so was still getting to know my car and had ad08s, not a semi slick on in my defence

I think the price comparisons to GT3s are a little off the mark, this car is aimed at people who do not want a GT3 as it is too hardcore. It seems to offer a lot but at a cost, It seems you could carefully select the options best for you & drive away with a great car at a not so eye watering price, you could also do this over a period of time, lessening the financial pain for us mere mortals. The resale value would concern me though were I looking to spend my cash.
Another benefit to many people is that their car would probably be unique, I'm guessing the blueprinted engine also removes most of the Gen.1 engine worries?

Shouldn't ruin the road ride. I have experienced modern Ohlins R&T DFV suspension and it really is high level stuff - they manage to get fantastic handling with great ride comfort. That said, I havent experienced it in a Porsche. However I think Chris Harris really rated Intrax suspension on his 911 and many people rate Ohlins above Intrax.Mods are a waste of money IF you're comparing the car to a GT3. Why? Because at the end of the day, a GT3 will always be worth more, and when you try to sell this, it'll be nothing more than a modified base model car.
Still, I fail to see the point in not only this modified car, but even the gt3's mentioned as well for 40k. Just get a GTR and be done with the nonsense.
