K-Tech, that OFFICIAL RENAULT TUNING ARM?

Go to Montune and keep your warrenty, go to K-tec and lose it.

Your(sic) kidding right?
Ok your right.

However how much appetite is there for you to buy a 20k hot hatch and spend even more money on it.

Plenty.. If you can afford a hot hatch, you can afford a one off upgrade. Actually it's one of the reasons I bought a new Focus ST.

I've got my Fiesta booked in for the upgrade on the 1st August (not September, as stated)

A Fiesta ST with a fully warrantied 215bhp (similar power, torque and weight as a MKI Focus RS) for £17,594.
Now the Clio looks really overpriced.

A Remap on the Clio along with a sharper gearbox map would make it a beast.
Gearbox on the Clio is the limiting factor when it comes to tuning. Can only take a maximum of circa 260Nm (~192 ft-lb) of torque (I can't remember the exact figure quoted by Renault).

The Fiesta now has 320Nm with a Mountune kit, Renault are simply in a losing battle in the UK.

I'm confused - so, you have to pay for fitting (of the upgrade)? Thought it would be all inclusive price/deal.

I can see where you're coming from with the fitting, but in total it's £659 (for the Fiesta). Not a bad price at all for what you're getting.

I think the Fiesta ST is the best little hot hatch of the moment, with 215bhp it should be a right laugh.

Same here, I'll definitely be looking out for one when prices drop below £8K

Piston Heads have got the Fiesta upgrade slightly wrong, the new ST comes with 180 BHP or 183 PS, so 35 BHP hike in power is very good value

Fiesta ST gets more and more tempting, I bet 215 in that little car is a right laugh.

When put like that the ST really does seem like a bargain hot hatch.

well not read up on the dual clutch in the Renault but if its a dry clutch system, just like most cars when tuned you'll have to uprate the clutch packs. There are various companies out there that are currently doing that for the dry clutches in the Fabia/Polo/Ibiza Cupra etc.

If its a wet clutch as with most DSG's on the VAG range the gearboxes can be mapped for increased clamping pressure to reduce slip.

Again Renault know there technical limits more than anyone so if they offered these upgrades at a reasonable cost.

Wonder if Peugeot will roll out a tuner arm. Get into bed with Ecosse? Rallye as a tuning arm?

Sounds good! Their MP350 kit did wonders for the performance of my Focus RS and I'm sure these will provide much of the same! The Fiesta kit in particular looks to be excellent value - at £600 it's a complete no-brainer.

It's just a shame they can't stop the Mk3 Focus from looking like a manatee.

Although I'm going for this, I did actually expect a little more out of the MK3 ST UPG?

Am I the only one? Maybe 285 HP? I know Mountune are conservative but still..
