Bi-polar much? wink

I personally can't stand the sight of these baggy, squashed arse abominations, twin-turbo V8 or not.

However, each to their own.

IMO, the last RS model worthy of the moniker was the B7 RS4. It wasn't perfect but Audi have failed to match it since, even though RS models are now appearing with alarming frequency. RS ain't what it used to be frown

Meh.

Same wheels as a 2.0 TDi B6 A4.

Try harder Audi.
Dear Mr Meh,

In the UK at least, the 2.0 TDI was not available on the B6 A4, nor were the wheels. They became available on the RS4 in 2006 and then on MK2 TTs and the s-line special edition A3s and A4s soon after, then other models.

Perhaps the wheels are popular with customers.
Thank you for correcting me.

I have seen plenty of A4's B6 (and B7) sporting the same wheels

It makes little difference to me though, it just dilutes the Audi RS brand.
Those look like after market alloys to me, not factory items fresh from Audi.

Remember when Audi said it'll only do one RS model at a time to keep the badge exclusive? Times change. This new RS7 becomes the eighth RS model in the current line-up
TT-RS
RS3

RS7

What are the other 2?

Could be, but they are not 'RS' models.

Maybe the TT-RS Cab and the RS5 Cab?

No probs. I cannot speak for other markets but yes you often see those style wheels on modified cars.

Audi's website lists the following: (only 7, and no RS3 - has that been discontinued?)

Amazing that only Audi (apart from VW based vehicles A3, TT etc.) is still using the DKW / Auto Union 2 stroke engine configuration, ie engine in front of the front wheels. Nothing wrong with it and it makes 4 wheel drive much easier.

The RS7 and the B7 RS4 are my favourite Audis, wasn't too sure of the looks of the A7, but really like it now.

Surely a £50k S7 would be a better buy. Pretty much the same engine and save yourself £30k!

The 7 is my favourite in the Audi saloon range, I really like the sloping back end plus the nice aggressive looking front. This RS version seems very impressive, maybe one for the fantsty garage.

Wow, 85k before delving into the dreaded options list? That’s pretty much Bang on 991 S money.

Don't get me wrong (flame suit on), halo models help shift lesser models (especially with S-line options etc.) and I appreciate that, I mean it's all about generating sales.

But as posted earlier you reach a point where you dilute a brand. No idea how AMG avoid it but they somehow manage to.

The odd thing is I like the A7. I mean people aspire to certain cars but I can't imagine this shifting bucket loads.

While I'm at it the article states issues regarding ride (21" + Steel springs etc) then states it’s a great long mileage machine? What while you're bounced around the cabin? I'm confused.

Two things stand out from that:

1) You can spec an A7 to over £100k?!

2) Audi clearly know the best angle to show the A7 at i.e. the one that hides its massive, saggy arse.

Yes, yes, I know I'm going on about it and that some folk like it but it's my internet wobble

Not my cup of lapsang cos of the bulky 'cut-off' rear, but it just goes to show - if Jag wants to keep up with Audi, BMW and M-B, it needs some pokey and efficient turbo V8s, asap...
