RE: Chris Froome wins yellow ... Jag

Not a bad payday, plus his sponsorship and possible bonuses, and not having to pay for Sky for a year

Bit out of date, but shows there's money in it.

Doesn't the winner traditionally share the winning with the team? Porte certainly deserves a bit!
Dare say his salary is well into 6 figures too. Rightly so i feel.
Probably 7 figures now. Cav and Wiggo both earn a few million a year. Teammates significantly less though all his tour teammates will be on 6 figures. Dare say his salary is well into 6 figures too. Rightly so i feel.
Tour winners normally share their winnings, yes. However, that's never really been where they make their money.
Appearance money at races, sponsorship and increased money in his contract to keep him at Sky is where he'll get most of it from.
Top ride, by the way. Snuffing out the opposition on the Ventoux, limiting his losses in a crosswind and chasing down attacks and even countering on his own made it one of the most impressive wins since the likes of Hinault in the early to mid 80's.
Froome has never even lived in Britain, but I won't begrudge him making a claim on being British because of his family. Better than the likes of Zola Budd back in 1984 - how she managed to run for team GBR, I don't know. Plus he seems like a genuinely nice and very dedicated guy. Much more public-friendly than Wiggins!

Reddit, as ever, provides a more Pistonheads take on the TDF

At that level, you don't really LIVE anywhere - you just train, compete, travel and work virtually non-stop. Good on him for going to Monaco, using his time there to invest and build a secure financial future for his (future) family. I bet that he is so busy that even on his one-month holiday before training starts again, he will barely have any time to himself, let alone LIVE. All that will be in the future, after his cycling career has either ended due to injury, loss of performance or other pressures such as needing to have a life.
Jag is mostly Aluminium, so it will last - won't rust away after being left for months/years by the sea in Monaco......

V6 S is a bit too slow
Driven one have you? I have. V6 S is the sweetspot - Anything but slow.As an XFR owner I've been invited to 2 jaguar events recently to experience the f-type
The v6s is a great car but when you've had the v8 you will miss the relentless acceleration and v8 character.
Mike Cross knows what he is talking about when he say the v6s is the sweet spot. It probably is, it's much easier to drive, you can be much more aggressive with the throttle but that for me takes the fun away.
My XFR and the v8 f-type has bags more character and you have to behave whilst driving it.

Monaco? Crikey! I never knew cycling was so richmans! Wonder which other sports stars live there apart from the obvious F1 drivers.
There are quite a few pro cyclists living there, male and female. You often see photos on Twitter of Jenson Button, David Coulthard, Alex Wurz and several pro cyclists going for a leisurely ride into the Alps for a coffee. I guess it's location helps with training too.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
