Just bought an M135i because Chris Harris said so...

I just picked up my new M135i which I ordered purely off the back of watching Chris Harris's video vs the RS3. I had never driven, heard or even seen one until I picked up my car but I'm pleased to say MY GOD was it the right decision!!

Every petrol head in the world needs to just once sit in one of these and hear this new 3.0 turbo unit with the sport button engaged. It is to my ears THE best sounding bmw road car ever produced. What an engine (oh and it came with an ok car too, bit ugly but nice place to sit).

When I owned my Golf mk5 r32 I said if it was 50hp faster and did 10mpg more it would be the best car I'd ever owned.

I've been flip flopping about buying one of these, but the Autocar article today about one with the Birds pack comprising more bhp and a Quaife diff made me think that might be the car for me.

There is always the official M Sport Exhaust to be fitted.

I'm going to suggest you turn off the active sound design feature. Then you can hear what the M135i sounds without the enhancements.

Hmmm I actually didn't realise it had that. I thought you were joking originally. That will really offend me if it does do the fake m5 malarkey

I have been informed by my other half (who I told I was buying a sensible hatch back to save money) that 'it sounds rather noisy from the exhaust for a sensible car'

That can only be a good sign
