I'm trying to find some 1/2" UNF wheel studs with an overall length of 2 1/2". Knurl needs to be 0.625"

I can't seem to find anywhere that stocks them. Any American car owners know of a good source or had dealings with Summit performance and shipping to the UK?

Never used them but they look like they should be able to help.

Thanks for that one. Looks good but very expensive. Think I could import the morose ones and get them machined down for less than they want for the 2" studs.

How people can charge £4.95 for a student I'd beyond me. It might be cheaper to change to metric. :-(

I have ordered lots from Summit, their service is generally excellent and the website has been recently updated to show shipping date for international orders too. Make sure you use their iParcel option for cheapest shipping.

Try Agri Parts as loads and loads of tractors used 1/2" UNF studs for the front wheels. The little grey Ferguson T20 that broke the mould on tractor design is one example. One thing you can be sure of is that if the studs are strong enough for a tractor they will be just fine on a car. Of course these days getting anything more novel than a loaf of bread or a bottle of milk can be an uphill struggle so you may have to do it online.

The really hard struggle comes if you want left handed studs for the left hand side of a vehicle as nowadays with hub-centric wheels the wheel nuts don't really carry the weight so they don't normally unscrew themselves. If one has the misfortune to own a trailer with lug-centric wheels where the wheel nuts do carry the weight it is however a whole different ball game. For instance with classic Mini wheels the nuts on the left hand side may unscrew themselves when the axle load goes over half a ton. In this case longer studs with jam-nuts, preferably Nylock will solve the problem.

Good luck!

PS It is no use at all going to a spot-lamp shop for 1/2" UNF studs and nuts.
