I quite fancy Gaynor, especially after that bit about the negative feedback. I wonder what she's like?

The type of ad's I really don't like (any will skip, even if the car looks ok in the pics!) is this type:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1996-JAGUAR-XK8-CONVERTI...

Come On! £7000 car and you can't even be bothered to write two lines describing it? Really?

I really wish I could ask for a test drive, then turn up in an RS4. I thought you said very very fast (a million times) and one of the most powerful estates ever in its size class... Not even bloody close hehe

I wonder how many keyboard's were worn out in the making of that advert.

Edited to add: It's also Holden engine, made in Port Melbourne - very Nordic.

She just repeats the advert again and again and again and again...

I started to wonder if it would ever end.

Nice lady, good at what she does. I trekked up there to view a 9-5 a couple of years ago - didn't buy as the car wasn't quite right.

She's clearly doing well - selling at least a couple of cars a week, it seems judging by her feedback number now vs then.
ETA
That negative feedback statement is familiar - it was on there when I looked at the car.

I'm always assumed they were more powerful than that, Saab's old 2.3T made more power than that.

Does the Vectra XVR have more than that? Is this a de-tuned version of this engine?
If she's insistent that it has timing chains not belts, then I doubt it's the same engine. As already mentioned it looks like the 2.8 Alloytec V6 from Holden.

Formatting isn't great but it reads as a completely honest account of the car and covers pretty much everything anyone would ever want to know which is great imo, good on her.

It just reads as if they are trying too hard.

They are also not registered as a business seller.

I wouldn't touch it.

I think the caravan and white vans in the background would put me off more than the lack of detail in the advert....

It looks tidy enough, but she describes the interior as "without any obvious signs of wear at all, looks like it's only done 40k" and the driver's seat bolster and armrest are completely shagged, worst leather sag I've seen for a long time.

So how much it drives "absolutely 100% with no noise or rattle or squeak" etc, I'm not quite sure.

Saying the condition is "100% absolutely superb you won't find better for the age and mileage and price.." also sets a load of alarm bells ringing too. Reads just like one of those that says "mint condition" then anything you find wrong is you being picky and you should expect no better for a car that's a WHOPPING seven years old..

Gaynor's adverts seem to come up on PH every now and again. I personally find her style put me off all the cars she sells, trying too hard and all that, too "in yer face" - too much for me. But she has 100% feedback so the cars she sells must be half decent??

Is the Saab designed chain that "never needs replacement" similar to that in the 2.2 litre which likes to slip and destroy the engine?

A remap will see 300bhp and 400lbft. The same engine comes as standard with 280bhp in the VXR and was down tuned to 230 and 250 for the signum \ vec elite.

Additionaly they do have a Cam chain, but these have been having some issues with stretching.

I thought it was just another OTT ebay add up until the ‘My name is Gaynor’ bit which really cracked me up. I’ve got a 3.2 V6 Elite bought for £930 12 months ago. I think the 3.2 V6 makes about 220 bhp, it neither glacial or quick but pulls well for overtaking. I’d have the V6 turbo for it’s tunability as 300 bhp with the breathing freed up would be quite nice.
