'Sought after'! Hurrah someone got it correct.

I can't be bothered to read all of it, does it also include 'the best colour for these'?

Too much 'sought after', once was enough.

I did read it a bit more. I got the tale at the bottom about the eBay feedback extortionist.

And then at the bottom, an interesting looking serving suggestion:

Seen a few of her adverts in the past - horrible on the eye and a rambling read!

I bought my Forester from her and she's really nice, and the cars are very good for the money. She had others in while I was there and all were extremely good value. Her ads are like that for a reason.

For those that missed SOTW an Alfa 156 has just popped up in her ebay listings. £600 and it absolutely definitely has not got a head gasket issue...

To be fair, although perhaps a trifle shouty she does seem genuine and honest which is refreshing. Many on Ebay (private or trade) wouldn't even mention a coolant issue that isn't immediately obvious on a quick drive.

I'd probably buy a car from her if she had something I wanted.

I'm always assumed they were more powerful than that, Saab's old 2.3T made more power than that.

Does the Vectra XVR have more than that? Is this a de-tuned version of this engine?
If she's insistent that it has timing chains not belts, then I doubt it's the same engine. As already mentioned it looks like the 2.8 Alloytec V6 from Holden.
They are not, the SAAB 2.3L is a four cylinder for a start. They did put the General Motors V6 in a few Saabs but as mentioned it made less power (and used more fuel), so they didn't sell well compared to the Saab engined versions. The part about chains never needing replacing is a lie as well, they might need replacing less frequently than rubber belts but they don't last forever. On the 4 cylinder Saab engine 150,000 miles was the designed for service interval (though they could do higher mileages without needing replacement), and since that signum is on 90,000 miles...

With regards her negative feedback comment. As a trader would she not at least be partially liable for the cost of repair after just 1 week of ownership? Or do we think it was the attitude taken by the buyer that was the issue?

rofl Gaynor seems to like this car, just a bit. Probably because it is very very fast and has no cam belt.
No cam belt you say? Must use some kind of "chain".
