The stripes are inconsistently spaced and badly shaped.
The bodywork is unrealistically shiny from a basic recolour.
The rest is pure wishlist.
the article says "The same forum also provided a couple of renderings of the car." didnt say Renault did them. The stripes are inconsistently spaced and badly shaped.

I've seen a liquid yellow 200 EDC on track at French Car Show at Castle Combe last weekend where it was going up against track to Saxo's & GTI's..
It was actually doing pretty good for a completely standard car.
Too quiet though, sounded like a hybrid compared to the decatted, straight line coffins on wheels.

I am sometimes slightly bemused at the hate for the recent Clio Gordini.
Yes, I know it was only a cosmetic make-over, but the Clio R.S. was a pretty decent machine to start with, albeit rather spartan in Cup form.
If I remember back to the old 5 Gordini and Gordini Turbo, they were fairly highly specced relative to the other 5's of the day, so I didn't personally have an issue with Renault doing something similar with the recent Clio.
I'm only saying....

I want to reserve my opinions until I actually see it and drive it but my first impressions are that Renault have missed an opportunity with this model.
By all means pioneer new technology with the new Clio RS - the flappy paddles etc - but for this special Gordini model, just offer a decent manual gearbox. The Gordini should have been a chance to create something aimed towards people like us, who enjoy driving! It would be brilliant if they decide to go down the route of trying to recreate the brilliant Clio 182 Trophy or create something unique like the Clio V6. You also wouldn't advertise it as an everyday car either because Renault would have the 'softer' ClioRS to cater to that need.
I find the stats very impressive but I question the need to have two similar Clio's in the line-up with the only difference being a remap, paint job and a higher price. Like I said at the start, a missed opportunity in my opinion, if they make it at all.

As the film "The Colour Purple" said. Honey yo sho is ugly!
Where is the sexiness of the Renault 5 Turbo or the vision of the Citroen DS/SM era or even the Megane 1 model ago? French cars have become dross so hurry up Alpine and make me eat my words. To be fair most hatchbacks are this too with the exception of the new Fiesta. Can someone at JaguarLandRover please re-invent the Austin A40
with it's elegant lines, roominess, practicality, and affordability.

I hope they give this car a lot of bodywork changes if they do make a new Gordini because its horrible looking at the moment, but it could be great but something tells me Renault have lost there way and other companies are going to make better hot hatches! All I really want to see is a cheap new old school hot hatch and I think Dacia could really pull it off with some of Renault sports help and a low price tag....

Ahh let me have a think, can I add some Recaro seats to that wish list
I actually think that there is a lot of potential here, for someone that needs a small practical 5 door car (could be my next company car) thats good for sitting in traffic (in auto mode) but can be unleashed for a euro trip or trackday........[quote=Penneth]Very mixed views on this one, a post over on RSUK a few days ago states it's simply a wish list someone made for a Gordini model that they want to present to Renault. However, it could just be part of a bad translation!

If it is all just some pie in the sky wishlist, hopefully the buzz it's created will get RenaultSport's attention.
Ditch the Recaro's (far too boring), I'd rather Sabelt.
