I say:

- only short messages, no conversations.
- when on a single lane only.
- not in the evening.

I'm interested in your opinion.

Quoted before delete.

Not at all is everyone's (other than teenage girls and people who think they and their conversations are more important that not crashing into others) answer.

Old phone with proper buttons before this touch screen malarkey. No problem I could touch type and send the message without looking at the screen.

Now only a fool would text and drive.

Well, if you can trust siri, and the phone is your satnav then it's not too bad. I just need to push the main button once and say "Tell Laura I'm running late and not to throw my dinner away" and it will (more than likely) send a text to Laura saying (mostly) what I wanted it to say....

Why a single lane? Surely a motorway would be better as it would be straight and cruise control would probably be used smile

Nope, not under any circumstances.
If it`s that important I`d pull over and deal with it properly.
Basically it`s stupid and dangerous, no doubt I`ll get slated for saying that but people who text and drive are morons, period.

Yeah, I guess he'd be allowed to text at any time hehe

Seriously OP it is concerning you think it could be acceptable to do this.

Any time when it's safe to do so providing you are using voice control and voice to text.

Interestingly, the new Google/Motorola 'phone will be 'always' listening for a specific activation command and so you would not even need to touch the 'phone to kick things off.

"Galaxy call fred"

etc.
