Based on the Fiat Idea, which shares a fair amount of chassis with 'that Vauxhall thing' the Meriva. It would have better engines though.

They used to be a very common rental car where I worked in Italy. Lots of people visiting the plant arrived in them from the airport and were usually very positive about them.

Lancia Musa, which is a stretched Fiat Idea with posh trimmings. Not my bag, but never heard a bad word about them TBH. The car itself is based on prev gen Punto (Classic?) underpinnings as far as I am aware.

Is it though?, we looked at buying an Idea a few years ago and I test drove the JTDm. When we were discussing it with the Fiat dealers, they told me that the underpinnings were actually a Meriva. He wasn't in the least bit surprised when we bought a Meriva instead, it seemed better packaged but in fact it proved to be crap.

There was a lot of cross fertilisation of 'ideas' back then between Fiat and GM, so it did make sense to me.

Look at the length of the back door compared to an Idea. I saw the 2 side by side and there was a difference
