re-mapped car friendly insurance?

A friend of my FIL has an 07 Peugeot something diesel estate. His turbo went so in the course of getting a new turbo fitted had it remapped. His law abiding conscience has got the better of him so he informed his insurance company who have promptly cancelled his policy.

Anyone know of any insurance companies that 'wouldn't mind' an honest 60 something who's never had a crash/claim/or points with a remapped 6 year old Peugeot diesel estate?

Can't he ring up and get some quotes from other insurers, most insurance companies will insure him, remaps are the most common modification.

When he answers yes to 'has your insurance ever been cancelled', that will increase his premium more than the remap.
