So it seems we're on the cusp of a new age of electric powered/assisted super/hypercars!

Whilst we wait for the full releases and the all important group tests, which have your keenest interest? Both in tent pitching and for the engineering/choice of drivetrain? Whilst of course only three contenders remain, Jaguars stillborn effort is so close to the finished article I thought it was fitting to include that as well.

One vote for looks, one for tech. Some cheeky snaps and stats to help!

And of course what else do you think of this new breed, and who does everyone think will come out on top?

Excellent post and I'm sure it will generate a great topic.

But writing porka, macca and fezza makes me naturally assume you'll be trying to fight me at the next football game for looking at you funny, like.

Quite. It's not like you were trying to save time in a quick post.

I wasn't too keen on the P1's styling but having now seen it in black I think it's spectacular!

It's a shame the plug was pulled on the C-X75, that's the one that excited me the most, firstly with the micro jets and then the awesome four cylinder lump. This month's Evo has a great write up on it.

It's done intentionally as part of the styling surely?

Look at the F40, then the F50 and look at the line that follows the bodywork from front to back, it's derived from that style.

I love the Jag, again such a shame it won't happen.
The Porsche looks great in the martini colour scheme.
P1 is growing on me I'm sure it will unbeatable, but it doesn't excite me like some of the others.

I think the LaFerrari will be incredible. (Why can't they just drop that name)

Can't wait to see how these perform head to head on the track!

I doubt we'll ever see the Jag, which is a shame because it's the best looking car there to my eyes.

The Ferrari looks awful but you certainly can't argue with the numbers. The Others sit somewhere in between.

If I was buying one with my own money (yeah, right!) I would go for the Porsche, because it strikes me as being most "car-like" and still has exceptional performance. If I had to pick one drive in one of them, I would choose the Ferrari because of that engine. It must be extraordinary!

The trouble with the LaFerrari is explaining what you've bought down the pub without sounding ridiculous.

"Just bought a McLaren P1" = *sage nods*
"Picked up my Ferrari LaFerrari today" = *gales of laughter*

If it were my money, I don't think the difference in performance figures would sway the decision. All are so powerful that the differences are likely to be irrelevant unless you're a racing driver on a track.

For me it would come down entriely to which one looked, sounded and felt most special. These cars always look different in the flesh. From the photos, I can't make my mind up on the P1, the LaFerrari (disappointingly) leaves me unmoved and I love the Jag from the back but I'm not sold the front. I saw a 918 at Geneva in 2011 and thought it was utterly stunning from every angle, so my imaginary deposit will go on that until I've seen them all.

I'd take the Jag followed by the Ferrari on styling alone. The P1 looks like a python trying to eat a crocodile, from the front, and from the back... vomit
Far too much going on

Taste is a funny thing: I'd take the P1 over the Ferrari if we're talking styling - i think the Ferrari is very awkward looking from certain angles. And, intentional or not, as one person has said already, the panel gaps on the Ferrari are hideous.

The 918 and the Jag take this on looks though, both are extremely pretty lick

Jaguar
McLaren
Porsche

In that order...

And speaking of the Jag, for a car they're never going to produce they've put a lot of effort into developing it.

I did setup a poll for this, have I done something wrong?

I didn't get on with the P1's looks until it showed up at Goodwood, it's a close second to the Jag now. Definitely marmite though!

P1 - simply amazing

Ferrari - Not sold, ungainly and looks big

Porsche - Nice, but the problem is the concept was absolutely brilliant so this looks leaden in comparison. Not really the same sort of hybrid as the Ferrari and Mclaren either.

Jag - awesome - not as cool as the P1 but the tech is very interesting

I think that because it is a Ferrari you can certainly argue with the numbers. I imagine that the hybrid technology makes it even easier to punt out highly dubious press cars.
