I want to fit a tow bar to my wee fiesta st so I can trolley my bikes to track days on a small trailer.

Ive looked on google if it can be done but it just takes me to max power like websites were people get in stupid arguments about how it will effect the performance, theres fk all there to start with!

so can it be done, I dont want to have the bumper cut though that is a must!

ideally something that can go on and off and you would never notice it

You almost certainly wont be able to do it without cutting the bumper at all. There will probably be bars available which just require cutting the bottom of the bumper though, which you can't see unless you're lying on the floor. You'd need your head without six inches of the floor to see that our Octavia has a tow bar (when the ball isn't fitted, obviously).

ETA: Check that the ST is actually approved for towing, though. Some performance versions of cars aren't.

If the ST uses the same bumper as the Zetec-S (which it looks like it does, to my eye) you might be able to get one with an "official" hole cut in it.

Doesn't help with the type approval issue, though.

I had heard it wasnt approved for towing but I thought fk its only 200 kilos at most. thats less than a car full.

The problem isn't so much whether it's capable of it or not; it's whether your insurance company would just laugh at you if you tried to claim for an accident while towing.

Just to be clear, I'm not actually saying that they would. But it would certainly always be a nagging worry for me.

That's probably the more sensible option.
