A lot of speeded up footage in that clip to make it look like its going quicker than it is. Gotta love Ferrari banghead

Alonso didn't exactly look pleased when he got out either.....

Not sure about that wheel. At 1.10 it doesn't look like the driver is either...
+1

It didn't look right in La British Leyland (what did?) and it doesn't look right in this either. Ferrari are trying to give it the look of an F1 steering wheel, but they've produced something that looks like it's just had a row with a large workshop vice, and lost.

I thought the name of the car was LaFerrari so therefore the Laferrari would work. Without the 'the' its the Ferrari Ferrari rather than the Ferrari LaFerrari which surely can't be right?
That was my understanding. Regardless of its translation, its name is "LaFerrari". Just like Boxster, or Mondeo.

So "the" is quite acceptable before it.

Not keen on the interior.

Those central vents look like the eyes on a robot from a low budget 1980's sci-fi film.

Can we stop calling it 'the LaFerrari' and drop 'the'? It'll educate the masses and stop grating on those who know Italian.

Why cover it with crazy Fablon? It was launched almost 6 months ago and we all know what its going to look like. In the mean time, I've gone right off it and I'm struggling to raise a semi over it. Compared to the P1, it's looking more and more like a white elephant IMO.

Crash testing is still done by NCAP.

OK, I wasn't racing it round a track but I got on really well with the squared-off wheel in the new Vanquish (a la One-77) when I had it last weekend.

Must be a special wheel for Fernando.

They flattened the top down a bit so he could see over it without needing a booster seat.

I'm no aficionado on Allegros, but it seems that the Vanden Plas 1500 (the upmarket Allegro) was available with a round wheel.

Another possible theory: Ferrari will be offering a round wheel upgrade. It'll be available on the options list. ££££s no doubt.

Surely the point of the flattened wheel is because a single-seater cockpit has no room for a round one - clearly not an issue in that car, or for that matter, the Allegro!?

As someone with long legs, I welcome out more compact wheel overlords generally, but with Billy Smallpants there is looks stupid wink

What was wrong with a round wheel, that still seems like the best shape for a steering control interface to me. If it ain't broke...

Coming from the people who thought the Alfa Arna was a good name and look how that turned out, the worst of both worlds, i.e. ugly as sin and poorly built. Luca di Montezemelo has a lot to answer for with naming Laferrari. Despite it being oversubscribed the backing track methinks is "Yonder comes a sucker". On this occasion I will pass, as the last decent looking Ferrari was the 288 GTO, since when they have all been born rather slitty eyed. The McLaren P1 may share the fate of the F1 i.e. appreciated too late and didn't reach it's target sales because buyers were running elsewhere-and now they're (F1) £2 million if you can find one (original list £643k approx.)
The old geezer Enzo would be not be laughing like a drain at how Pixar-like his company has become, and the racing team as also rans to a fizzy drink company would have him turning purple with rage.
Sorry if I have strayed slightly off the squarewheel.

I'll take the black P1 which rolled past me last week. That was astounding.

This looks like an Enzo with a daft steering square.

Pleased that it looks better in the video than in the stills. As with the P1, they both looked quite wrong in 2D but that P1 looked stellar in black at FoS whilst this is now officially inoffensive (but still far from beautiful).

Completely off topic but that interior looks rather fab! smile

As soon as people stop saying PIN number we can wink
Would this car have the advanced ABS braking system?

Not the greatest rear leg room behind the driver.
