Can we stop calling it 'the LaFerrari' and drop 'the'? It'll educate the masses and stop grating on those who know Italian.
Nope, off your attempted high horse, it is you that is wrong. It's the vantage, the 911, the montefo turbo, whatever. the fact that Ferrari chose the sttest name in history for their new charriot does not change the ise of English, even if you do speak italian.

The only 'epic fail' is you using the term 'epic fail over a minor grammatical error because you've been proven wrong.
Eh? Last time I checked it wasn't me who was responsible for the development of the Italian language (or any other for that matter). The fact that Ferrari's UK English speaking marketing staff occasionally get it wrong too (or are maybe pandering to the ignorant) still doesn't change things.r11co said:

You are simply wrong, accept it and move on. Pointing out spelling errors to cover your embarrassment just makes things worse.DuckAvenger said:

The Mclaren F1 is a bag of nails, 0-60 in only 3 seconds, and a crap top speed of 241 mph, and it was only the fastest car in the world for about 13 years.
Sure. McLaren F1 is a legendary car...but is there really anything else. Ferrari has all kinds of cars and all journos just want to drive them. Brit cars...not so much... F-type...just farts and ugly also not britishEdited by Amirhussain on Thursday 8th August 20:12
And this is just a list of the great British built cars from British companies, in current production, that I can think of off the top of my head. Ignoring the boring cars, cars made in the UK by foreign manufacturers and all the parts that are made in the UK for cars built in other countries.
So, ye, we don't make any good cars in the UK, unless you Refuse to acknowledge how the modern world works with the globalisation of both ownership of companies and parts manufacturing. Who writes the cheques and who makes the parts no longer defines what country the company "belongs to", especially as the owners (i.e share holders) of most large companies could be anywhere. What defines it is where the companies head office and manufacturing is based. For Jaguar that would be Coventry.

'The Way the Modern World Works' Hmmm, not sure about that. I think the UK is arguably somewhat in the minority (and behind) in manufacturing when compared to Germany, France, Italy and the States, in that, their manufacturers tend to rely on a domestic supply base more so than manufacturers in the UK. The other point to make is that most of the manufacturers in the UK are foreign owned, so ultimately the profits end up places like Japan, Germany, France, China and the States. We do provide the workforce and in some cases the specialist skills (which we should be proud of) but unfortunately, we have of late simply failed to manage companies in the way the Germans and the Italians have done to become world leaders in their fields.
I think we have a lot to learn from them.

The Jaguar is British, it just has Mr Tata writing the cheques just as Ferrari's are written by Mr Fiat whereas McLaren's are written by Mr. Ron Dennis of F1 fame and head of McLaren an independent manufacturer not owned by a conglomerate, as is Pagani, Koeniggsegg, whereas Porsche Lamborghini and Bugatti & Audi are owned by VeeDub's Mr Piech and family.
McLaren majority is owned and paid for by Bahrain, also Austria is more involved in manufacturing of its major components than UK where the car assembled in the end. I'd rather have McLaren on looks alone in volcano red. Edited by pagani1 on Thursday 8th August 21:58
