What a load of rubbish.

Fake 10 minute car journey for just £15 on DVD? I'd rather sniff my own arse.
Hope you enjoy it. Will you use the full 10 minutes?

And it's why the Blu-ray of Senna is a waste of money, it's because the source material is 80s/90s spec standard-def video - you can't polish a turd wink

Always makes me laugh when I see "polish a turd" used properly.

It takes him over a minute to travel the mile and a quarter of the Champs Elysee fro Arc De Triumph to Concorde. His average speed must be no more than 70 for this stretch. Bravest thing he does is run red lights. He clearly beeps the bin men, their running from hundreds of meters away...

The above is all correct and if you watch it, the car isnt really travelling that fast, its the low down camera and overlayed 205GTO engine noise that gives the impression of speed.

Its still stylish and enjoyable though!
I don't know about that. This analysis has him doing >130 towards the end of the Champs Elysees

Watch from about 9:30 in, also the first 2 mins are credits and cheesy music

In a similar vein, I'd love to see a vid of Alex Roy's 27-minute lap around Manhattan:

And here's an 8-minute vid of a fast-forwarded 00:26:03 lap of Manhattan:

Some re-mastered old films (especially black and white film) look absolutely stunning at HD resolution.

This does seem to be, shall we say, quite a bit, for a short film. Even if it is a classic. Still, they have a lot of lawyers to pay for their time issuing take-down notices across the Internet.

Detractors here are tedious philistines. It's a very beautifully crafted seminal piece of film-making, including the dubbed 275GTB (belonging to the director iirc) which sounds utterly gorgeous.

Watched at home on something rather better than your crappy iphones or laptops, this will look awesome.

It is of its time. If you can't appreciate it, go back to your multiplex blockbusters.

I think the film is completely overrated, not very well shot, and then they put a stupid fake engine noise on top of the video track, the story behind the film is a mush better watch.

I have it on DVD for a fiver on fleabay. Upscaled on my blueray player it looks pretty decent already. Can't justify buying the blueray disc.

I only realized this (and it's obvious in hindsight) after I bought it. The only thing "HD" is the captions.

God. The smugness of some people : Oh it's dubbed, overlaid. He wasn't really going at those speeds.

If you don't like it, fine. Chundering on about how it isn't authentic, it's a fraud, rather misses the point.

It's an entertainment fix. Sit back, watch, listen, enjoy . climb back down from your anuses.

Really, lighten up. cool

It's almost exactly the same as "Getaway In Stockholm" (except they're not getting away from anything and it isn't in Stockholm)
In my opinion the Getaway In Stockholm series is so much better. Cars going properly fast, with sounds to match.

They also speed up the footage to make it look like they're going fast.

There's plenty of impressive videos of people driving properly fast, Rendezvous isn't one of them.

Rendezvous is about being a bit naughty. Someone had just under 10 minutes of film left over from another project and a fancy new stabilised camera. He strapped it to the front of his Merc and tried to drive across Paris before the film ran out. He also only had one safety check - a mate on the other side of the single-width tunnel with a radio. He later found out the radio wasn't working...

The filmmaker got arrested afterwards. Whether it was 70 mph or 130 it was for real and it was naughty. The soundtrack could be much better dubbed, but I like it.
