Not really sure what the issue, BMWs and Audis do not always ride properly TBH.
Sporty BMWs and Audis very rarely ride properly, in my experience, but that doesn't really give Jaguar an excuse to do the same. Strange to see other reviews praising the ride quality, though. Maybe different options?
If it's at a pre-release event for the media, I would have thought they would all be similar/top spec.
I would guess it falls to individual reviewers' perceptions and expectations - whether comparing to BMW/Audi competitors, or to other Jaguars.

The car gets a very favourable review in EVO, which I am more likely to believe to be honest. They say the ride is firm at low speeds but improves as you press on. I love the car and love all that Jaguar and LR are doing of late..far more desirable to these eyes than the equivalent German.
The ride is also praised in Jalopnik's review. www.jalopnik.com Odd that it's polarising opinion so muchKrikkit said:
I think in a more subtle shade, and without the huge wing, it'll be a lot less showy. Sounds like the ride would be a deal-breaker to me. Lovely thing to exist though, well done Jaguar!
ETA: Much nicer.
Looks good in a more 'toned down' shade like this.ETA: Much nicer.

Really? Okay, I haven't driven the R-S but rubbish ride and refinement???
Can't fault mine for either to be honest, Jag are on a roll and I will be having the new XF in a couple of years.
Your post makes no sense. He asks what's the point due to poor ride and refinement which the article claims it has. You then say you haven't driven one, then shortly go on to say yours is fine. Can't fault mine for either to be honest, Jag are on a roll and I will be having the new XF in a couple of years.
So you do or don't have an XFR-S? If you don't, what's the relevance of your car? The article clearly states the ride is noticeably firmer than a standard XFR....

There is also an automatic option for people who don't really like driving or have missing limbs.
These were taken from the HSV website: http://www.hsv.com.au/Gen-F/see/gts/?rid=build (sorry PH if this is not allowed. For the record I don't work for HSV or any car company)
Yes it's slightly more bogan but being half Aussie half Brit I like to swing both ways when it comes to jingoism (though I have been going for Australia in the ashes because I feel I should be supportive of a puppy who is being kicked). That and having sat in XFs they don't really feel luxurious or prestige to me. I like my luxury cars to be all soft piped beige hide and slabs of tree.

My friend had one of these to take his granddaughter to her prom. No other car there got a look in. In the flesh THAT blue isn't so bad nor is the spoiler (although not my cup of tea). The noise it makes, however, is very, very naughty.
Have they actually released this car yet? The article's written as though it's about to be, but not available yet.Just had a look at building one on the website, what a poor choice of colours/wheels (same with many sports versions it seems). The blue doesn't suit it at all and I wouldn't spec it on an XKR-S either. Spoiler ruins it too.
Minus the above, these are one of (if not THE) nicest exec cars on the road
