Yesterday I

Driving-Fun trackday: quite a variety of cars.

Dutch Morgan importer sent a Moggie-3 for a Dutch Playboy rep.

More snaps to come: busy processing snaps for the many takers. I only post what is paid for wink

Pretty bizar to see a huge 5-seater attack the track at ease.

What was the track like? It looks like it would be a good, challenging circuit.

The track is amazing and a real challenge . . . if you allow yourself. There's banking everywhere and the cascade fall halfway the track - into a blind lefthander - is more than awesome. A Z06 scrapped its chin everytime it ducked in. The big cars have the advantage of climbing the hills without effort. The smaller cars can round the sharp corners more easy. I'd say a killer Exige would be the dogs for a track attack. For me a Z3 was the star of the show.

It's as technical as Zandvoort, as fast as Zolder and as exciting as the 'Ring. I spoke a few trackday drivers: all were excited to the bone and will come back this autumn.

I know Marcus - historic racer - and he has done a damn fine jobbie: area, pit, premises and the outlet are the best I've seen. From this friday on there's a 14-day premium car brand introduction. Jaguar did some testing. There's a long drive way with a crossing gate halfway, so it's a 'no trespassing' area. No spectators, only subscribers.

I was asked by the organisation to sample drivers who are interested in track day offers. Please PM if you are / check my profile.

Thanks, best, Dinks.

Phat AUDIs:

Brisk TT. Sharp right hander demanded some cars to 3-wheels antics. This TT amazed me: on rails and everywhere.

And it looks good too.

I said it.

What's not to like.

Styling is a massive improvement compared to the older model.

Brakes like a MF.

Tidy lines.

V8 quick both in the wet . . .

. . . and in the dry.

A bit to noisy though. It was pulled out to quiet down. Street car.

Powerrrr.

Bad ass. VeeDub Rally yum.

Next: more red.

French bred red:

Steep!

Nice 206 screamer.

Mini was a complete riot: tidy lines, late braking. I liked it. Only snap I have from this one.

Clio fun: one quick and one slow driver . . . or maybe it was a tuition class.

Short wheelbase cars were quick in the sharp corners.

At the straights and uphill the Renault just wasn't up on par with the Dzjermans. Or the Z06. Or the AMG 6.3.

Although it could - could - maybe brake a bit later.

And the tidy driving Preza:

Next: more French . . . more noise, more speed.

Cool and noisy Clio.

Probably tuition.

A quick thing.

Racy looks added to the presence.

Quick, even in the rain.

Next: more yellow, way more power.

Bilster Berg trackday offered a variety of cars:

Banking and elevation proved no obstacle for the mighty 7 litre: torque is a huge advantage here.

The sight most drivers got to see.

Still a pretty sight since the 2006 introduction.

Corvette in the rain.

Next: Porsche and Radical

A nice promo video but it misses done key points - where is it? And I'm guessing that with 44 dips/crests it's a long track - so why not make a point if it?

(I'm off to google now, as it looks interesting!)

Late air-cooled Porsche are the dogs. My choice of pork. This one had a throathy exhaust spitting 260 healthy ponies.

The driver and owner was a thoroughly enthusiast taking care of his car.

Thundering Die Strecke:

Fast & Furious.

Racing is waiting.

Nice air-cooled roar.

A bit more contemporary, a bit quicker and more tight on the track:

Radical was a bit cautious.

Cool front. Bike-engined thing.

Looks like a riot. Stays completly flat in fast corners.

Must be that massive wing . . .

A lightweight should brake beyond G-powers . . . but this seemed a bit tame.

Next: more Beemer.

Beemer Z3 Coupe went well.

Tidy lines and hard braking.

Quick in the wet and in the dry.

I like 'em.

Next: more BMW.

Any noise issues? Looks like there weren't too many cars so no cumulative problems?
