That bonnet shut line looks awful, BMW used to claim that this was a sign of a down market car. Bring back integrating the kidneys!

Agree, what the hell? Surely won't make production like that.

Looks stunning, lighter weight, more power, hopefully the engine will hark back to the great raspy 6 Cylinders of old.

Well done BMW.

Looks bloody awesome! eek

M tricolour on the carbon roof is a nice detail.

Carbon fibre tip surrounds for the exhaust? Tarty!

That Phoenix Yellow II is rotten.

Would have loved to have seen a launch car in Yas Marina Blue, or a Sakhir Orange.

It is the same as the bonnet shut-line on all 4 series. I fear it is signed-off like that already

Too fussy in my opinion.

Also, it doesn't 'age' the E9X M3 so much as all previous generations did to their predecesors which in my opinion is a good think and should keep E9X M3 residuals quite solid for now.

That bonnet is bloody awful! What do you need a power bulge for on a turbo straight-6? Pointless.
The engine bay houses three turbos and a giagantic intercooler that sits on top of the engine, hence the reason for the bulge.

That's exactly right - it is a feature of pedestrian crash regulations according to BMW. And just because the company may have said something years ago doesn't mean it has to stick to it religiously does it?

I'm not entirely sure what's wrong with the aesthetics of this car, I think it looks bloody lovely. Now picture it in Singapore Grey with Sakhir Orange leather and you have a fine looking car. Not sure how it looks anymore vulgar than a new RS4 for C63 AMG either?

Three turbos , man i wouldnt want to replace those when i can afford one in 7 years.

Mighty impressive engineering though.

Some great pictures there. Looks particularly good from this angle:

I don't understand the M4 Coupé Moniker though, I thought the whole point of the 4 is that is a Coupé.

That looks mean and muscular.

A updated Phoenix Yellow?!

I just hate the 'M4' badge on the front grill - gives it a chavvy touch. Leave it off and it will be slightly more discreet...

I think they do a similar thing with the current M6...

Probably because they've already got the 4 series fastback on the drawing board.

I agree though, love that angle, and this is just all sorts of perverted <3

Dunno if it's been said already but to those asking why a straight 6 needs a power bulge.

M3 (and most m division) engines have itb's and therefore are taller engines.

Looks ace. Provided they sort the shut line at the front of the bonnet! Better start saving. When is the M3 saloon being launched (if they are even doing one)?
